I dont think so. He doesn't have elite hands or top end speed to be picked that high. Id be surprised if he went in the first round next year.
They really like those guys who can by physical...Julio Jones, Ashlen Jeffrey, AJ Green, Da'Rick Rogers....it is all the rage these days in the NFL. They are looking more for power forward looking bodies than the leaner guys
Valid point but it also works to his advantage as much as his disadvantage.
How can drawing double teams on practically every play and all passing downs be an advantage?
I personally think Hunter is the better player and better guy in the locker room. I think if he had stayed healthy and DR had been injured UT would have won another game or two. That said, I feel for the guy and the frustration he must have experienced at times.
UK in particular boxed him in. They sold out to stop him and it worked.
Julio and AJ were like the 4th and 6th pick in this last draft right? The Falcons traded up to get Julio. Those guys are all the vogue these days. I bet you that Ashlen Jeffries is a top-10 pick this year
They were unless losses get you all hyped.
There is no way Alshon Jeffrey is a top 10 pick. He will be lucky to go in the first round. Aj Green and Julio are faster than Darick. Darick doesn't have elite speed for a reciever. I remember back in the 40 competitions when Milton won it, he was cracking on Daricks time.
When you put DaRick out there with Hunter and Patterson, he will be getting off the defenders a lot better,,,,cause there won't be two of them hanging on him...lol
You are looney as a tune if you don't think Jeffery goes in the first round. He will go in the first half of the first round...easy! Plus he knows how to pump gas!
5 catches 62 yards 1td against UF
5 catches 106 yards against Arkansas
3 catches 63 yards against LSU
10 catches 100 yards 2 tds against Cincinatti.
Yea he only plays good against Vandy and Kentucky
To answer your question, I have no idea. I do know he just had a great year when he was the only option UT had for much of it. It is hard to post those numbers in the SEC... and even harder when the second best option is a true Fr, converted RB, or Z Rogers. I'm not really knocking ZR either. He's a role player on a good team... not a #2 WR.
Your post seems tainted by the assumption that he was poison to the team. Maybe he was just the most vocal of the underclassmen who were frustrated with the lack of leadership from many of the upperclassmen? Maybe he was tired of getting double teamed with no one else really developing behind him? Maybe.... just maybe there is a reason a coach was paid to "retire" and the player is still on the team and by all official reports still in good standing?
