Seeing how successful our end-arounds with him have been thus far, why dont we bring back the direct snap with him at QB instead of Gerald Jones(in years past)? Da'Rick is a big physical player with good speed, he would be ideal in this package IMO. Thoughts?

As much as I would like to see those ideas in action, I would kind of rather him spend more time in practice developing his route running

If D. Rodgers can complete short passes than this would be great. Otherwise, it is of limited value. He has size and speed but a safety might puncture his lung. He is not 250 pounds and while fast not a sub 4.4 guy

I literally am shocked every time it's run, cause it keeps working. How in the world do teams not catch onto it?

haha i know what you mean...I would love to see him in the WILDCAT. Do you think he ever imagined having more rushing yards this year than receiving?

If they don't know WHEN we call it and it's blocked well, it should always pick up a few yards. Execution matters.

True, but if the outside linebacker sees it and bites, he's a moron. I've seen that a few times.

I think he should be returning punts also, coach has him on kickoff and does a good job, so why not punts?

One thing I have liked about Rogers is his ability to avoid unnecessary hits by getting out of bounds. He seems to do this quite often on end arounds. This also refers to a number of other skill players on our team. I do not know if the coaches are reenforcing this but I always like to see our players play smart football. Unnecessay injuries to key players can be a season killer.

I would think the coaches are instructing them to get out. Even one injury would be devestating.

IMO i'd rather see him develop his pass catching skills and become the elite wr we know he will be. with him and hunter next year and milton.... OMG!! it's gonna be awesome. let poole take care of the running...rodgers needs to catch passes.

Somebody asked Dooley that same question yesterday during the press conference. Dooley responded by saying that it's a totally different animal fielding kick offs and punts and that being good at one doesn't translate to being good at another. It would seem that they have tried this in practice and it didn't take. I for one would just like to see Gerald Jones back there to just field the punt. Not take hits, not try to break one or set up field position, but just to fair catch and let us start our possession. Dooley said yesterday we have had 6 muffed punts this year by 4 different guys.

I realize that that had nothing to do w/ the OP so yes I would love to Da'Rick run the wildvol w/ either DMo or Poole coming around on the jet sweep.

Rogers on special teams is a bad idea. There is always a guy hurt on special team plays. No reason to send him out there to get lit up. Im not saying he wouldnt be great but returning kicks is dangerous.

Run the DRogers end around with Milton at QB, Hunter and Z Rogers at WR, ect ect just to give Bray a breather and get SPEED on the field

What is making the end around work is mis-direction and the fact that Rogers is at full speed when taking the handoff. Direct snaps depend more on straight line blocking, which the Vols are not the best at. UT has never been successful running the "wildcat". Don't look for it anytime soon. These coaches know their limitations.
