How long is it gonna take for him to reach his potential? He hasn't really been involved in the offense much. He's got too much talent to just be nothing, but it seems like he's not making too much of an impact this season.

Thoughts?

I think they need to throw the ball to him a little more but honestly Hunter is showing more promise than him unfortuantly!

We've certainly seen worse. This offense actually has an ability to sustain a drive, especially with G. Jones back. Also, we haev the ability to hit a big play from time to time. The same can't be said for 2005 or 2008.

While I'm by no means saying this is a great offense, I think terrible is a little strong.

In regards to the OP the whole freshman and 3 months on campus thing would be the main reason IMO.

He hasn't been involved? He's been on the field almost every play. Simms just doesn't have the time to make all of his reads.

If Zach Rogers can get receptions, I would think that surely that a great athlete like Da'Rick could get one. I don't think the offense is necessarily the problem.

2005 There was an underclassman by the name of Robert Meachem....we had a deep threat..it took him until 2006 to learn how to become that threat. Its only 5 weeks into his first season evaluate him after the season our receivers are going to beasts the next 3 years.

Some guys take longer to develop than others.

Its not necessarily a reflection of talent, potential, intelligence or maturity for one guy to be on the sideline as a Freshman and another on the field. Some guys just have 'it' sooner than others.

It'll take time. Player development is different for each individual. He'll be fine, just give him time.

I was referring to having a worse offense in 2005, in case that wasn't clear.

I meant its unfortuant thats he's not showing as much promise but grant it he's a freshmen , I have very high hopes for Da'Rick! And Hunter as well! Not at all the way it sounded

As for your comment on Zach Rogers... he's a sophomore.

He's a freshman. Most freshman don't see the field let alone be good on it. If he's not showing off by his Jr year then there is a problem.

His blocking is miles ahead of gooch. I don't know how anyone can expect anything out of freshman that are still learning the playbook right now. Until our offensive line improves, there is not much our star freshman receivers can do. Simms have to be standing upright before Moore, jones, z Rogers, d Rogers, or "bones" have a chance.

1. New QB
2. VERY new OL
3. New RB
4. New HC
5. He's a Freshman WR in that ^ offense.

When the first two begin to realize their potential, the others will fall into place.

there's more to being a receiver than just running around catching the ball... He has to learn the plays and the schemes.

Hunter has had some experience on a big stage with his track/junior olympics time that may have helped him progress a bit faster. But, D. Rogers has had several big blocks and even ran the end around without dropping the ball, which is huge for a freshman. He's coming along faster than Milton. . .

Bagett and Dooley think he's doing fine. He's caught a pass or two and is on the field a lot. I've seen DR downfield blocking well on long runs. Simms doesn't have time to throw it to anyone downfield for the most part.

He's doing fine.
