Not to be picky but Hunter is a field event guy... far from world class speed... but he can jump really high

Agree. Most long jumpers and triple jumpers in his class do have great 40 yd. (or so) speed, though.

His stride is so long it's hard to judge how fast his "football speed" is gonna be if he wants to concentrate on football. I think he could be pretty fast, but he doesn't look exceptionally fast now, IMO. I love the body control he has....especially when he's in the air.

Thinking the same thing for the past few years. Everybody, and I mean everybody, has a guy who fields kicks and hits the hole like he's being chased by guys with tasers and ours jog up to the line and get hammered by the long-snapper. It's frustrating.

Put Rod Wilks on returns. He will just part the wedge to run through like the RED SEA!!!

Oku said he put on quite a bit of mass in the offeseason. I am starting to think that made him a better RB but maybe a worse KR.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who noticed this. I'm not the most knowledgeable football guy, but even I was questioning Oku's "straight up the middle every time" tactics. It gets us to the 20-25 every time, but no further (even against poor competition).

I think Neal should get a chance. He's not playing, yet already ineligible for a redshirt. And I like Gordon on punts (just wish we'd actually get to see him return one more than a yard).

Neal would be a good choice...Probally our best choice, but we are not coaches, though

Our special teams suck, but I don't believe Oku is the one to blame. Our blockers are getting beat down the field. By the time the ball gets to Oku, he doesn't have any time to do anything with the ball.

Not our entire special teams. PAT and kick units seem good so far (knock on wood). And Chad punted the ball well against fla.

Hunter and Neal would be my choices - just based on athleticism. But two true freshmen returning kicks on the road in the SEC would certainly be scary.

Hunter is too thin for that kind of contact. I see him being a similar receiver to Robert Meachem in a couple of years. I think Rogers has some youtube videos of him returning kicks and he was great at it in hs. I am using my phone or I would link it up

I may be wrong but Da'Rick doesnt look quick enough to be an elite SEC return man....my vote would be for Jansen if there wasnt a chance for injury. Neil would be my second choice..

This, I thought Dooley was supposed to be an expert at Special Teams???

The FGs and Punt coverage has looked pretty good but Kick-offs still look horrible. Fla started on the 35 at least, every time they had the ball. Just kick a squib if we cant tackle the fast guys..

Neal was the best kick returner I have ever seen at the highschool level. He had atleast 5 or 6 return tds his senior year. Hes a better return man than rb. Half the time teams just kicked it out of bounds or pooched it.

Oku sees the field well and makes the right cuts, but he just doesn't run hard! It looks like he is coasting and running cautiously. Maybe the challenge by DD will bring some fire out in him. He will also need to hold on to the ball if he decides to run hard so he doesn't fumble.

why not oku just dances around he needs to pick a seem and hit it full speed.

This guy knows something about playing football. So true. I made the same comment on Saturday. Running a full sprint is the key to a good kick return. Seems self-explanatory, yet we find ways to fail
