Da'Rick Rogers

Oh my Choisus, please stop it with the throwing a kid under the bus before he even plays a damn game. The only ones who have manufactured this mass hype is the people on this board.

No one is throwing him under the bus, we are simply saying that we hope he will give 100% because he is so much more talented than he is showing right now.

Which one of those guys went to the Sweet 16?

Oh wait...

They couldn't do it in four years. Scotty Hopson did it in his 2nd year and he was the 2nd leading scorer.

I don't understand the hate for Scotty but oh well. I guess success is measured in personal numbers these days. Who cares about wins?

With the way Peyton Manning is adored, you'd forget Tee Martin, the guy who won a championship for the school even exists.

Personally, I'll take team success over personal success any day of the week.

Scotty had very little to do with us reaching the Elite 8. Hopson was almost non-existent in the tourney and cost us a chance at a Final Four. BTW all those players made a Sweet 16 besides Watson.

The only thing going on is the fact that he has only been in Knoxville for 4 weeks.. He doesn't know all of the plays. As soon as he starts learning the plays then he will be on the field.. He will be on the field for the plays that he knows

He's been on campus since early June.

I think the main thing is a playbook issue. Hunter is a very quick study and has picked up on the playbook very well. Da'Rick not as much. Not to say he won't play some sort of role but he still has a bit to go on the learning part.

He'll get there.

Rogers is a grown man but was fighting at bar knox.

Milton may be able to redshirt, rogers has two seniors and another rogers all wanting to play in front of him.

Yeah how dare an 18 year old kid have to need time to adjust to a new environment and system. We have some awesome people on this board.

Everyone is motivated differently. CDD and his assistants have to find how Da'Rick is motivated. Talent is not the issue with this young man.

That is what i have heard. But i have not seen any practive personally.

Hunter making the two deep the first game without early enrolling as a true freshman, is exceptional.

Rogers not making the two deep the game without early enrolling as a true freshman, is normal. Its not an accurate comment on his talent or his attitude.

Yeah, God forbid him be 2nd on team in receiving yards... If you expected Hopson to score 18+ the previous years in Pearl's system you are delusional. This year however, Hopson is the main focus and will put up very good numbers.

I don't now for sure, but just maybe his lackluster efforts can't cut it in the SEC.

Hopson is lazy, and everyone who watches knows it. He has been and will continue to be a dissapointment.

D.Rogers=next Percy Harvin

I'm not seeing this comparison.

I'd say the next Meachem would come close to his physical ability and make up but he'll have to learn to work to get to that level.

Meachem had to learn that too...

I think Meachem is a great comparison for Rogers

Sounds like he's working on it. He posted this on Twitter:

"Good long hard day. Hitting the Playbook with Matt Milton "

Physically he and Meachem are clones. Both are 6' 3" and over 200lbs with sub 4.4 speed.

Remember though, Meachem emerged as the best receiver coming out of fall camp in 2003; then he tore his ACL. That set him back almost 2 years.

Donte Stallworth needed some ajustment time as a freshman and I think that he turned out pretty good for us.

maybe zach rogers is just better than him right now.. he's been in the system longer and apparently earned the spot. sounds simple to me, i wouldn't worry too much about it.

I took Big Meach a while to catch on both here at UT and also in the NFL. Some guys have longer adjustment periods than others.

But when they catch on? Watch out.

Thanks for saying something that makes sense! :hi:
