DaRick Rogers VFL

Geez got to love all the Dooley haters coming out of the wood work when we wouldn't have had DR in Orange if it weren't for the guy getting him. DR did himself dirty and if anything Dooley let him to try to keep him happy. At the expense of pissing off others. CBJ wouldn't have been able to do any better controlling the situation cause it's hard to threaten to sit players when no one is behind them...especially the situation with Bray.

Anyway...I find it interesting how Luck seeked him out and went right up to his face after that last TD and told him good job. Would have been nice if Bray had that level of leadership instead of "swag".

I will have to give it to Dooley on this point. It seems like he did all he could to give the kid a chance. There are many things we could blame Dooley for but losing DR isn't one of them.

I for one do not consider Rogers a VFL. The kid was given COUNTLESS chances in our program and chose to pi$$ it away. I hope he stays on a positive course...but VFL?? Not in my book!

That's your opinion and you're welcome to it.
However mine differs.

That was a huge plug for recruiting. DaRick has been to the mountain top and fallen but still gives props to where the mountain top is in his life. Good Luck DR!

Glad to see he still loves Tennessee.

Which for all his troubles, he shows more class than people on VN who spewed vile at him and nothing else. Will be interesting once he has a contract worthy of his talents to see if he donates to TT or the UT. Given the attitudes of people here, if he donated 40 million, they'd probably gripe it wasn't 41 million. So probably he should donate to TT instead, they'd actually appreciate it.

It's not Da'Rick's fault he didn't have a good coach at UT. I would of loved what Butch Jones could of done with Bray, Hunter, Patterson, and Rodgers. If Jones was here a year earlier Da'Rick would of been a Vol. He would not of done that stuff with Butch that he did on Dooley.

WHOA!!!!! While I can agree with a lot of what you say above, certainly not the part it wasn't DR's fault. I often side with our players when everyone else is damning them. But even I have to admit that DR was Burt Reynold-ing. Both as young men had their heads so far up their own behinds they couldn't hear, much less listen to common sense advice from ANYBODY. But I do believe if DD had either himself or sic-ed some bulldog assistant on DR, he'd have straightened out. Or not. Not being drafted didn't fully penetrate his head as seen with his behavior with the Bills. But when they too kicked his rear off the team, I think it finally hit home. We'll see. But whatever happens is HIS fault because he'll be the only one making the choice of whether to listen to wiser heads or continue to however talented, be a piece of sun fried cow pie.

I understood the Tennessee Tech part. I couldn't understand the Vol for Life part.

Meaning that his heart is still with the Vols. He let all the world know it too. Sad if you couldn't understand that, a blind man could see it.

He is on a positive course- according to report, first to arrive and last to leave. He made great catches in this game.

He seems to be growing up and realizes what a great thing he had and pissed away with the VOLS.

I am proud that he claims us...

Save your breath, JCP, we have a faction of people on VN who MUST and have a mandatory life's mission to hate. If a player so much as sneeze and it sounds like ANSU instead of ACHOO, he's a demon forever doomed to hell. Doesn't matter if he finally, and actually turns his life and attitude around. If he didn't die on his orange shield at Neyland, he's a never been entity. no wonder David said: ... “I am in deep distress. Let us fall into the hands of the Lord, for His mercy is great; but do not let me fall into human hands2 Samuel 24:14

Amateur coaches will make amateur decisions. No way he leaves if jones is here. This isn't the first time Dooley couldn't get along with people. Remember the gardeners?

yeah, the guy had some abuse problems, but he was still a 1,000 yd receiver here at tn.

how do you know he had "abuse" problems. again...an example of how ignorant we are regarding pot. if I have my privacy majorly violated in college, or in business for that matter, i'd have failed drug tests. But I definately don't have "abuse problems". these kids shouldn't be subjected to random tests for substances like weed.

Privacy violated?

You sign a little paper that says you agree to random drug tests. You don't have to sign it, but you won't have a job or play. It's your decision

You won't have a job? What are you talking about? As a forklift operator. Maybe not. But the vast majority of employers in this country don't drug test. In fact, the higher profile the job is, the less likely they are to test. Doctors, lawyers, financial professionals, elected officials.... Hell, the coaches of these kids aren't tested. Testing for non performance enhancing drugs is a violation of privacy. The Olympics don't do it. And Mma has recently come to the same conclusion. The NBA doesn't test for weed.

Hasn't he been saying that all season? I know I seen a few times during the regular season where it said UT for the school he played college at.

And the weed sign just went up in the sky. Brace yourself for Pot Guy to tell you that you just don't understand.

I think Maryjane is performance enhancing for some. Calms some players down and even brings a certain focus. Some of the most ridiculous basketball players I've ever seen in person would take a puff in the middle of a game and proceed to light everybody up for the next 5 minutes.

and my wife tried half of a cookie someone from Colorado gave us the other day and cleaned the house more in 3 hours than she had in the past 2 years. Definitely enhanced the cleaning performance.

He should have never been kicked off the team IMO, his attitude problems were way over blown and the reason they actually used is BS.
