Da'Rick Rogers suspended indefinitely (merged)

It would be awesome if the mods would merge all threads dealing with Rogers today. Too many of the flooding everything.

Best I can tell is that he snapped at coaches because he was told he was supsended for violating team rules by doing drugs that were bought with money that he accepted from an agent.

Sweet fancy Moses...

Not being a negavol, but are we on probation from the earlier NCAA investigation?

If this is an agent thing this is where the NCAA needs to step in and start keeping agents away and from players, I live in PA so I went thru the whole Penn st thing and it was sad yes but that was an area the NCAA should of stayed out of and let the law handle it. This is where the NCAA should step in and help players

The agent issue is something that is decades old. They have been working on it for decades. Punishing teams didnt help. Killing programs didnt help.

They are trying to educate the athletes, and that is the best they can do. EVERY ATHLETE, IN EVERY SPORT gets educated about what they can and cannot do in regards to NCAA eligibility (ie Agents, gambling, attending/passing classes, work, etc)

The athlete signs the paper saying they agree to these rules. If they screw up, it is because the athlete screwed up. As Ron White, and someone else in this thread has already said, "you cant fix stupid".

I guess Jimmy Hyams isn't so stupid after all. We'll be extremely lucky if Bray manages to stay out of trouble.

Hyams said he would be suspended for academics. That is not the reason he is in trouble and it was NOT because of an agent according to Hubbs. The incident (that none of us know about) happened recently. Hyams basically made a prediction that was like me saying the Sun will set in the west. It's going to happen

I know but the agent thing is like other things in life always have grey areas you know? If im at a bar and see bray and Rodgers and buy them a beer just being nice or them dinner cause I appreciate what they do and enjoy watching them play is that wrong? But if an agent does it then it's a big deal I mean yes it's bad what he did but no one even knows what he did yet everyone says its with an agent but until we get all the facts. All of you saying goodbye thug should just stop yesterday you were so excited to see him and voting him as reciever of the year

Actually yes, if you buy them a beer it is wrong. It happens everywhere, and it is a very innocent, non issue in my book, but I understand why the rules are there. You have to police the little things or they become big things.

And anyone calling the kid a thug is just being ignorant right now. We dont even know the facts. Most likely thing is that the kid made a huge mistake. Most of these kids have been treated like royalty on and off the football field since the 8th grade or so. It is tough to get out of that line of thinking.

I wish the kid the best, and I hope the rest of the team plays over the absence. He's very good, but he is just one guy on a pretty good team.

Why all the hand wringing around here. DR was just a package deal anyway. We got the QB we wanted out of it. Oh, wait.

If Da'Rick is off the team, might be time to stop recruiting 5* guys.

Bryce Brown, Janzen Jackson, Da'Rick Rogers, Markeith Ambles...

Might have been better off if the first three followed suit and never donned the orange like Ambles.

Kids today... they need someone like Eric Berry to meet them over the middle and keep them in check. At least he had a good head on his shoulders.
