I am pretty close to Nash so I have a pretty good idea. Halfway through this semester Da' Rick was failing 3 classes. Now I am pretty sure he has all A's and B's. I am 100 positive that he is failing no classes.

Thanks calhoun!!

Do you know if he has a qualifying SAT/ACT score yet?

If you really think about that one should be scared. Not sure how grades are done down there in GA but going from failing to A's and B's is pretty hard. Maybe he is really a smart guy that can't keep up during football season but if that's the case there should be no worries about his ACT/SAT score. Not saying anything wrong is going on down there but It worries me with Bama fan's salivating on something to bring us down and all the NCAA attention the last guy brought down on us.

Typically teachers will help out a student that is struggling, especially a football student. If they see that he shows initiative they will let him make up late work or do some extra credit.

I've seen it happen, and I've also been the recipient of this too.

Per his coach, apparently he hasn't qualified yet. We need to send out the hostesses!

:) j/k

The NCAA has a sliding scale where if a test score is one thing, the GPA has to be at least so high,” Lamb said. “Right now, Da’Rick has a decent test score, but he needs a good semester to get his GPA up. He’s got some work to do.”

Lamb would say something like that. Ever since the Orgeron incident I would not take anything that Lamb says as fact.

That's good to hear. Let's hope he closes out strong in class and in Neyland!

I love this whole student-athlete thing that the colleges pretend is real. Let's be honest, it's pre-season NFL without the legal pay.

I assume with a screen name like yours you're close to the situation...are you hearing good things?
LOL! is that because of the "calhoun" or the "vol" you assume he is creditable? i talked to coach lamb yesterday......it will take a act of God for DaRick to complete his work before the end of the school year.....of course then he has the summer to work on those grades......looks like prep school for sure.

Seeing as you're both just a screen name to most of us, he's just as credible as you are.

Oh....and your "source"....coach Lamb...isn't that the guy who kept saying Da'Rick was going to UGA all the way up until Rogers chose UT?

And didn't coach Lamb proclaim several times that Da'Rick would qualify while he was committed to UGA but then changed his tune when Rogers switched his commitment?

I'll take that and your track record of credibility when I decide who to believe

And a bunch of sour grapes makes excellent whine.

I was thinking Lamb's Dad actually works in some capacity in the UGA Atheltic department. Does anyone know for sure? Seems like I heard that though, and that is why Lamb really encourages his players to go to UGA.

His dad or his grandpa??? I was thinking grandpa but I might be wrong?

As for Lamb and Rogers, Lamb told him to go where he would be happy, isn't that what ALL coaches should do?

Well as of right now the only way Da' Rick will not qualify is if his suspension from school today causes him to miss his finals. And as for my credibility you can take my words as you please.

i live in calhoun and from what i hear his daddy does work in some capacity for uga. dont know the title but he does have ties. and hopefully da'rick gets all of these discipline problems behind him. we dont need him in trouble. dooley needs to have a talk with him. he could be our top receiver next year. he is a beast.

I bet they are just looking for anything to get him in trouble and stop him from qualifying and coming to Tennessee!

*adjusts tin foil hat*

Per Hubbs...he didn't even list him as one of his recruits taht had a chance to not qualify, and a poster asked if that meant he was good to go. Here is Hubbs responce

Brent question on Da'Rick Reply

It's my understanding that he is in good shape. Again, situations can arise that are unexpected, but right now everyone indicates that he is good to go this summer.
