Da'Rick Rogers Impressing in Offseason Throwing Work

I hope his brush with the law will show him just how fast it can all be over. It doesnt matter how good they are on the field if they are in jail. That being said the O line will be a huge factor in how well our offense plays out this Fall but we need someone to step up that can get the ball to the recievers... Im not sold on anyone in our line-up being a world beater this season. jmo

Don't forget Hunter. We have 3 freshman WR's who are all very tall and very difficult matchups. Two of those are known for going up and getting balls (Hunter and Rogers) while the other is just a physical monster (Milton).

That doesn't even count Moore and Jones, who are very dependable WRs when healthy. Not to mention Stocker, who is the best TE in the SEC imo, and Poole who we all expect to have a breakout season.

We have a lot of weapons if we can do ok in the trenches and stay healthy.

I think Hunter may turn out to be our best WR. He is the most athletic player we have on the team.

Our receivers are just straight up filthy. Jones and Moore will be very good, and even after they're gone we have Rogers, Teague, Milton and others.

It seems to me like they will all be good at every different route, too. The freshman won't as much, but Jones and Moore will make progress wearing down the defense throughout the game. Not physically. Opening up different holes for people. ESPECIALLY the tight ends. I can't wait to see this team grow throughout the year.

This recieving group could be something really special if everything works out.

I'm glad to hear this. I really hope Ted Meline catches on to the offense. He has as much potential as any receiver in this class.

My favorite athletes are arrogant receivers who break up fights, love the ladies and don't want to be the handcuffed by The Man. "Officer, seriously? Do you know who I am?"

My evaluation exactly. Stocker is poised for such a good year, it could really change the offensive dynamic if the QB can make quick reads to beat what will probably be penetration against sub-par O-line. With some protection, it could get ugly fast for most Secondary's. A great TE can kill a Zone. Going to man to man, big receivers can chew up a secondary. As long as there is some protection and decent reads, this should be an offense that suprise most opponents. I really don't think Oregon matches up well with it at all.

Rivera seems to have some upside as well.

i tend to agree, i think 3 step drops and quick reads will be our bread and butterl. and i belive the oregon game will be high scoreing. im gona say 31-28 UT. palardy kicks a 50 yarder for the win.

It's hard to not be excited about our receiving corps. I just hope we can find a guy to get them the ball and an OL to give him the time he needs to find them. I'm thinking that our best bet is to go with a quick-hit, short pass offense...letting playmakers do their job. I doubt that we have the front to allow for long patterns to develop or to rely upon a smashmouth running game.
