The Only problem I have is he needs to do more for the common fan.
Danny is going to put the big brain to work on the baseball seating chart.

Make many luxury suites with free booze for the blue bloods. Get them away from the action.

Put students and rowdy rogues on top of the field.

The way it should be, hope you are right 👍

lol, I don't really mind the "oh pay him everything, he's worth it" mentality much considering what else is going on in the sport, but I'm incredibly amused by how easily people can spend other people's money.

And it's even more entertaining when you realize it's actually not other people's money - all of us will be paying for that pay increase. Every dollar comes from us. Either through our money, or through more ways the school finds to sell access to us. More commercials, more ads, more logos on the jerseys, more logos on the playing surfaces, and so on. Ah well.

Everybody spends "our money." The key is how elll it is spent. I believe, as a die-hard Vol fan, our Return-on-Investment has been pretty generous.

Gotta pay in today's sports world. But man, does he make games expensive. Wouldn't trade him for anyone though. Well deserved

Just a couple of observations I see in these comments. First off, apparently only a small percent of fans understand the upper working of college sports. The AD is very important, but without the cohesiveness of the Boart of Trustees, School President, Chancellor, and AD, a school will never move forward. Ever wonder why UT wandered in the wilderness for so long, why LSU has struggled winning anything but baseball, USCw seems wandering in the desert. Lots of decision makers and there has to be the same goal.
Secondly is the false thinking that schools can do anything and keep the fans locality and dollars. I look no farther than NASCAR. They have commercialized everything they could. Yes they are still on tv every week but compare attendance, drivers salaries, and look at tv ratings. I live in the tri cities. In the past when Bristol came along, campgrounds were packed, hotels full from Knoxville to Asheville, restaurants packed. This year I didn’t even realize they had ran at Bristol until the next week. Fans are faithful, until they feel they are being ignored, then they ain’t.

As it should be...I would not be against giving the man a nice raise as well....CFP, Elite 8, Super Regionals, WBB (sweet 16), Softball WS, I mean, we are looking solid across the board.
