I don't believe Mac was saying the fans are not important but that it is not the ADs job to care if they like they hire. I would expand on that to say it is the ADs job to hire a coach that will put a quality team on the field and fans in the stands. we are important to the equation but are a lagging indicator of the ADs success, not a leading indicator.

Here we go the Good Old Boys, still will run the show, White can't hire who he won't unless the GOOD OLD BOYS give there OK, i thought just maybe Monday after the news conference after the football program was thrown under the bus, that we might tell the GOOD OLD BOYS to keep there nose out of the football program, but no THE GOOD OLD BOYS will have to have a coach where they still can run the show.

I agree with you on Elliot but we as a fanbase really need to get over ourselves if the program is ever going to have a chance. We are like a beaten dog that is rescued but still tries to bite his new master because he doesn't know any better. With the right TLC we will come around but the negativity has to stop.

White nailed it when he called out the negative social media impacts on the program. The kids read that stuff and it impacts them, good or bad. It's used against us in recruiting.... Anyway....

I'm pumped about the hire, we are in good hands and need to, yet again, have some faith the new guy is the right one..... GBO!

Actually he's in the best possible spot not to worry about the "GOOD OLD BOYS." He will hire a coach before he ever has to ask them for a dime. AND, if the hire works out as we all hope they will have no ammunition to use against him in the future.

"Hi, I'm Danny but you can call me daddy. How much you writing that check for son?"

I hope not. Gus Malzahn is my first choice. Elliot is another position coach. If that is the best we can do right now...keep Steele and Chaney.

I do not want any of the 3 listed. I hope it is not an accurate list from Hymen. Why hire White if this is what you get ,3 unproven HC candidates? I know we cannot hire Freeze Kiff etc because of NCAA issues. Saban Petersen. or Gruden or some other pipe dream hire will not take the job. I never thought I would say this Keep Steele if this is what we have to hire

Do you think someone in the Athletic department is wanting to find out who the snitch is and fed a bunch of random names to different staffers just to see who was a source for Jimmy? Which one of these guys met the criteria Plowman layed out?

Elliot could be a good one.

If leipold......seems liked you would be reaching........from the get go......and not in a good way.

I’m going to say it now. The guy seems genuine, appears to have class and integrity, but if he makes a stupid hire, he’ll be a garbage AD. Considering it’s even his decision.

I mean, from what was literally said in the press conference, Jimbo could have put the Queen Mother on there and it would have gone along with the "everyone is being considered" line. Pull any other 3 out of the hat and I can have just as solid a tweet as Jimmy.

Not a popular opinion...but I dont hate Liepold. Ignore the overall record. Go year by year. He develops teams.
