Funny how some just think Hyams is full if it. Do you guys think he just pulled these names out of the air? Why would he just come up with names? Come on folks. I am not saying the guys he listed are the exact candidates but that doesn’t mean they aren’t either.

Feels like we are in for yet another letdown. Hopefully not. Because all 3 of those are terrible hires.

Tony Elliot would be an ok hire, but I was honestly hoping for someone who had power 5 head coaching experience. I’d roll the dice on bringing Lane back before I handed the reigns to any of these guys.

Sonny Dykes would bring on another Schiano riot. Leipold doesn’t excite me at all. And as far as Eliot goes, he might be great at some point, but I thought Boyd said only established successful head coaches would be considered. Hopefully Hyams is off track like usual.

I’m not sure this will go over well with people.

Shouldn't make any difference if it goes over well with "people". He's the athletic director; it's his job to hire the coach. It's not the "peoples" job to hire a coach, although many fans(I hate to call them that) think that it is.

Sonny Dykes would end the AD as one of the best in America. That would be shocking if this AD made that hire.

Here it goes again. Who cares whether they excite you at all. We're paying Danny White a lot of money. We're not paying you thank God.

I think these people you speak of could have done a better job at AD than the last 3 we've had. We are gently steering our new AD in the direction we think best.

That's what I love. VN posters that think they know best (myself included).....

In all seriousness he is a great hire, let's let him do his thing and judge by the results. He has put great people in place everywhere he's been so I am optimistic this will be the same!

Personally, I would like them to hire someone who has had NFL co-ordinator experience plus college Div 1 HC experience, but those are in short supply. These listed give me heartburn, but I don’t get a vote.

If we spend big time money to get White but end up hiring Dykes lmao most UT thing ever

You seem to be missing a minor part of this equation: football is played for the fans. The fans are the ones who buy tickets, merchandise, etc. - you know, the stuff that funds the program.

And if they screw this hire up, you can bet your house that Neyland is going to have a hell of a lot of empty seats come September.

Obviously White's first test to see if we have cut down on negative outputs in social media. Tricky tricky tricky.

1) Sonny Dykes was a name mentioned after during the Butch hire. If we got him, I could see that Benefiting Harrison Bailey. Dykes is a good offensive mind.
He's actually got SMU running pretty good right now.
Hasnt done a great job with picking a DC though. Ever...
Steele would definitely need to stay. Meh...

2) Lance....meh

3) Elliot is a really good coach. Amazing story. No HC experience.
This fanbase would lose patience with him quickly.

I haven’t heard his name mentioned, but , I would give Mark Richt a call and see if he would be interested in coaching again.
