With Khalil and Tuttle behind him, he could have just farted in the huddle and got suspended for it... ya know... to get those guys in more... no? nobody?

Why is it always something. There's never a week that something doesn't happen.. Unbelievable. He's a BIG part of our front seven.

Immediately starting him after an entire year of not playing, and then a handful of plays in his first college game? Foolhardy at best, stupid at worst. It takes time to develop as a star DT...he's got that time. This instant gratification or bust sentiment among fans is more "telling". :glare:

Sage analysis.

Do we know what team rule he violated? Doesn't really matter since he won't play for whatever he did, but good grief can't these guys take a hint?

There are things KMac needs to improve, primarily technique and conditioning as he missed about 10 days of camp for some type of injury. Never did hear what it was. Not playing his senior didn't help either.

I heard this morning that the reason he was in a no contact jersey for almost 2 weeks was because of a concussion.

I'm with Butchna on this one. As much as I want KMac to come in day 1 and plant people on their butts, he just doesn't seem to have the conditioning yet to do it for more than a few snaps in a row. He'll get there but we have to be patient. In the meantime Vickers is better than you guys are giving him credit for imo, and is more apt to hold up for the length of a game right now.

I'm pretty sure that coaches have already demonstrated over the past 2 years that the best players will play, regardless of age.

Have they? From what I've seen, they've only played freshman in areas they didn't have much of a choice. I'm not buying the Khalil gets too winded too easily junk, he's the son of an NFL GM and has no doubt had access to trainers and facilities that go above and beyond what any other recruit did. Not saying he came ready to play immediately and is already on par with upperclassmen, but there's just no way he came that out of shape.

Not trying to be a jerk here. I'm just asking for comparisons sake since I don't know. But what was the highest level you played at?

I didn't realize that KMac didn't play his HS senior year. What was his injury? It is always a major jump going from HS to major-college sport--but when you don't play as a HS senior it is even bigger.

As for O'Brien, here we have a veteran guy who does something stupid and will miss a very big game. You have a group of 85 18-21 year-old guys, you are going to get a lot of stupid, even if 3/4 of them act responsibly.

I'm probably the only one but I have mixed feelings about game suspensions for violating team rules. If it's a violation that makes the player ineligible it has to be done I understand but this suspension affects not only Danny but the team, program, University and fans. I wish we could come up with some form of punishment that only affected the guilty party. JMO and probably a naive one at that.

Agree totally. It will be Vickers and Williams, then Shy. They might use KMac in a short yardage situation where a run is likely, but that's about it for now.

Now an indefinite suspension for O'Brien, JUST LOVELY!!! These guys just don't engage their brains before taking action.:banghead2::banghead2::banghead2:

There is a big difference between being "in shape" and being in "football shape". especially when you're 340lbs.

Not sure about Kahlil but I agree the coaches haven't always played the best player regardless of age. You just have to look to 2014 and Worley/Peterman over Dobbs

Considering the number of older players that have transferred out over the past couple of seasons, I would argue that the best players are indeed getting the looks in practice and on game days for a reason.

I believe it was more of a school transfer issue, they weren't going to allow him to play because he switched from private to a public school.
