Danny O"Brien dismissed from team

If he tested positive for an illegal drug in a hospital in College Station, what do you think the odds are of covering that up? IF that is what happened, UT really had no options. That being said...it was probably the dead Bama supporters in his dorm room getting smelly while the team was away.

HIPPA and hospital cooperation has come a LONG way the last 20 years. One tiny HIPPA violation by a hospital employee WILL get them instantly fired these days, no exceptions. I've seen it happen multiple times. I can promise you anyone on the staff in that ER that had access wouldn't spill a thing.

So if a drug (including alcohol, if you wish) is not addictive and doesn't create a dependency (however mild), then it must actually do nothing. Otherwise no one would bother with the effort and expense to use it again, correct? And, yes, I do understand that wanting or desiring something is not the same as the physical need caused by an addiction. If you are willing to violate a contract of employment or membership of any kind to get that feeling that you get from a prohibited drug, then there is obviously an element of dependency period.

I've completed about half a dozen classes for an Addiction Counseling degree. Since I was originally a chemist (I'm retired now), I was very interested in the brain chemistry aspects of addiction and dependence. Dr. David Nutt published a paper about a decade ago that discusses the various aspects of drug abuse...it may be a bit dry for some but very interesting to me.

It's a shame. If it was a positive drug test these kids know not to do it and do it anyhow. And knowing there's a good chance of getting caught. THC stays in your system a long time.

What kind of program you running here?(

One that actually maintains values and doesn't condone or look away from transgressions that could affect the Team and University.

Oh...and...SUCK IT SATAN!

The hospital doesn't just test you for drugs for showing up in the ER unless you're unconscious and they suspect drug abuse and they do a tox screen. The school would have to have a specific protocol in place to drug test players who get injured on the field much like employees have for workers who get injured on the job. I would guess whatever he tested positive for was worse than weed.

I'm pretty sure drug test are administered mid week like Wednesday or Thursday and then I'm fairly certain they don't get those test back until the following week. So I would say he got randomly selected last week and the results came back yesterday.

Hope they don't test the whole team. May not have a team left. Js

If it was roids he may have fessed up willingly.

I grew up in Colorado around weed that would knock you and everyone else out in this thread. You guys grow up with this mid grade **** and think everything is fine. It's not and it'll keep getting worse. Once again I've seen the harm his stuff does to many close friends of mine.

LMAO.. It has only been legal a couple years, you act like it's been decades..

And then your dumb enough to think hydro grown in colorado is any different then hydro grown anywhere else?

This only proves your doing nothing but talking out of your ass.

BTW..it is a medicine as described by our own government, and is the safest way to kill cancer cells.

U.S. just admitted that cannabis DOES kill cancer cells – Health Net Live

Pot meet kettle (pun intended)!

Oxycotin is a safe medicine to deal with pain relief....its also a huge problem for folks self medicating.

Penicillin is also a safe medicine but only when used for the designed purpose.

Doubt weed would be considered a problem in this country if the only folks consuming were those with cancer.

Danny faked his injury to give the team a lengthy breather. He confided this to the emergency personnel, which was relayed back to Butch and the NCAA. Butch had no choice
