Danny O"Brien dismissed from team

I grew up in Colorado around weed that would knock you and everyone else out in this thread. You guys grow up with this mid grade **** and think everything is fine. It's not and it'll keep getting worse. Once again I've seen the harm his stuff does to many close friends of mine.

I get it theres some good stuff around the country but a felony for basically having anything at all is a bit much.

Danny O has not played like a man with the munchies. For it to be this swift, this severe, and following an unsettling hit the simplest answer is more potent.

There are lots of relevant posts being made if you tune out the noise

I'm scanning but I've yet to find anything other than what the news article already told me. Hoping someone here had a bit more insight. I'm sure it will come out eventually. Sad ending with bad timing is all I can say for now. Hope he recovers quickly on all fronts.

I'm guessing that he had to take a drug test after the injury. This is not uncommon practice for any business as the insurance companies that pay the bill related to the injury want to know if you have done anything to cause the issue.

I'm not sure what hospitals your guys are going to, but they have taken seven vials of blood from me EVERY SINGLE TIME I've been to the ER.

That doesn't mean that they are doing a drug screen on your blood. There must be a reason to order a drug screen: altered consciousness, a specific set of circumstances raising concerns for drug use, making sure that meds given for treatment wouldn't cause problems if illegal drugs were in system, etc.

There are a ridiculous number of tests that can be run on s blood sample. IF he had a positive blood test while in hospital, there should have been medical necessity to test.

And as for the authority/ permission to release test results to UT just because they were there, that's a bit shaky. Drug and alcohol diagnoses (along with HIV and sickle cell status) have special privacy protections. He would have had to sign a waiver (before or after) to share that.

I'm leaning toward the cleaning-out-the-locker possibility. Or something completely unrelated to the time in Texas.

Nobody gives crap, dummy. By the by, Colorado isn't the only place that grows pot. Plenty of it in every state. I've seen the harm that sex, gambling, alcohol, food, tobacco, talking on cells while driving, playing with guns, steroids, prescription drugs, and a ton of other stuff can do but I won't get on a freaking soapbox on it like you. You've turned a thread about Danny's dismissal into a freaking weed debate because you like proselytizing. You've made your opinion well known by now, so STFU.

The hospital will not drug test you without cause or without informing you. They cannot release that info as far as I know. I would imagine that he was tested prior to the game and with it being his last strike it was sent to a lab for confirmation. He more than likely failed it prior to Saturday.

It really could be many things other than weed..

Hell, he could've gone Matty Mauk..

When will butch come clean about what rules he violated?

As irritated as Butch is at local media right now? It might be released eventually, but it could be awhile. Just a guess, but Jimmy Hyams might be the first one to report it. Just because he is one of the few in Knoxville who knows how and WHEN to ask a question without the coach putting up their guard.

Most workers comp injuries weren't covered on a national broadcast by four different camera angles showing how the injury happened. This isn't a guy who tipped over his forklift at the warehouse because he had a couple of beers at lunch.
