Daniel to Texans

It was absolutely baffling to see them (ESPN crew) talking up Scott and Dickson, barely mentioning Daniel. He was legitimately, without hyperbole, one of the best college punters I have ever seen. Huge leg, very accurate. Was a weapon and saved the Vols quite a few times by flipping field position.

I saw all the UT great punters in Neyland except for Cafego, Majors, & Ron Widby. Trevor Daniel was as good as any, & I expect him to do well in the NFL. He has all the kicks. :hi:

Townsend, Scott and Dickson were drafted ahead of him. He had equal or better numbers than any of them. The only reason Daniel didnt get drafted was because he went to Tennessee.

No, as evidenced by the many players that got drafted from colleges I never heard of, I say if you got the talent/potential, the NFL will find you. Hell one team drafted a guy out of Australia that has never played a down of college football.:hi:

Thought we had good special teams play while Butch was here. Unfortunately, that's not all he was allowed to coach.

Congrats to Trevor Daniel, the best punter in the draft (even if he got overlooked) for the opportunity to earn a spot in the league. There's no valid reason for him not to punt on Sundays, but plenty of supporting evidence for why he should have a long and successful career in the NFL.

If you haven't seen the greatest punt of all time, you're in for a treat:
