Just wondering since we have severe depth issues at DT, maybe consider switching Daniel Hood to DL? Wasn't he orginally recruited for DE or DT?

I'm thinking he was recruited as a TE. I may be wrong.

Could have been? I know he was having gaining weight issues to be a OL, so maybe try him at DT. Just food for thought!! Can't hurt at this point to get us thru this season at least for depth issues.

Hood can't keep on weight to be a OL....no way his body lets him be a DT

My roommate is 6'4 290 and surprisingly fast in a 10 yd sprint, want me to ask him?

....and he plays golf in college.

Just depends on how quick he is. If he is quicker like a TE, then it could be a good fit if he has grown to 275-280. If they moved him to OL because of slow of feet, the he'll get lost on the DL. It is a good thought though.

Considering the fact that Dooley likes to have depth at the TE position, I dont see him moving Hood to the defensive line.

I just remembered now that he was recruited as a TE.

utsports.com has him listed at 6-4, 275. not gonna cut it. if we made the switch now though, another year, get him up to 295, maybe........

6'4 275 won't cut it? That's bigger than half our DTs right now. If he can't play DT it won't be because of his size/weight.

Considering the fact that Hood is an OL...not a TE...I don't think this will play into Dooley's decision

Thunder is right. He was a TE in high school but was recruited by most schools, including UT as an OL.

HAHA! Not gonna cut it?? Exactly how big do you think the average DT at a big-time school is? Judging by that comment, they are MUCH smaller than you think......

If I were that size, I'd try to walk on for the hell of it. You don't make it? Big deal. You do make it? You get to tell your grandkids that you were a Tennessee Vol.

Wes Brown was no bigger than that.

15 pounds doesn't make that much of a difference.

He can still tell them that if he plays golf for UT.

Wes Brown played last year lighter than Hood. So I don't think Hood's weight will be the determining factor.

I always thought G. Williams would move to DT before all of these injuries.
