Daniel Bituli better be starting at MLB

Can Bituli run? The freakish thing about Jarrad Davis was his 4.57 speed at LB while packing 235lbs.

Comparison doesn't hold up unless Bituli can fly.

Don't know Bituli's 40 time. But on the field he has similar explosiveness. The coaches compared him to Jarrad Davis specifically because of how explosive he was at 6'3" 235 lbs.

Even if hes not as good as Jumper?

If these coaches can't get a highly rated 4-star LB that they compared last year to a first round draft pick ready as a sophomore to start in place of DKjr then maybe they shouldn't be coaching anymore.

Daniel Bituli is a sophomore. He's been in the system for a year. The coaches are the ones that compared him to Jarrad Davis. There is NO EXCUSE for Daniel Bituli to not be ready to play this year.

He might be better than jumper .

By the coaches own words he's better than Jumper. They compared him last year as a true freshmen to eventual 1st round pick Jarrad Davis. It shouldn't take more than 1 year to get a player of Bituli's caliber up to speed with the offense.

He better start or what?

Butch Jones might need to start packing then cause he won't be around for much longer.

You dont win championships with players like Colton Jumper. You win championships with players like DKjr and Daniel Bituli. If DKjr is hurt then Bituli better be ready to start. If not then our coaches have serious problems.

You don't compare a kid to a 1st round pick as a true freshmen then play a limited walk on ahead of him as a sophomore unless the coaching unit has serious problems getting their young talented players up to speed.

It shouldn't take more than 1 year to get Daniel Bituli up to speed so he passes up a player like Colton Jumper on the depth chart.

Or maybe he's just struggling lining up the defense.
We all know that how he looks is more important to you than if he can actually do the job, but I hear it's important to the team.

Why you slinging the 4 star crap? Was it not you screaming about player rankings being useless bs?

Just because he has been here a year doesn't mean it's clicking in his head yet. Don't just blame the coaches, it could be his learning curve.

They compared him to Jarrad Davis last year. He showed his skills on special teams as a big hitter with great athleticism.

There is no excuse for a player like Daniel Bituli to not be out there as a sophomore ahead of someone like Colton Jumper. No excuse.

Oh he has what it takes and more. Dobbs 4 Heisman just said the coaches said so. :)

The problem is that he has some kind of injury himself. Then on the 3rd defensive series against GT, Jumper may have to be helped to the sidelines after a low block takes his ankle out.

There is a vast deep state of injuries just waiting on us to start the season. We've got the devil on our tail and he's never going to turn us loose.

You did swerve into a good point. If the coaches are running around comparing him to Jarrad Davis, why isn't he on the field playing like Jarrad Davis? If they overstated it and he's not in the same league as a guy like JD, then it was terribly irresponsible to put that comparison on him.

Honestly, I don't recall the coach quote where that comparison was made but I'll take your word that it was said.

I think a lot of people do not understand playing MLB is more involved than just being strong and fast. Lol.

You need a brain to play MLB.

All these guys may be big, fast, strong....but they just may not grasp the X's and O's.

Personally, i would rather have a slower guy that understands the intricacies of the defense. Then he can at least direct the other players. Communicate to them what's going on. Etc.

That's just my opinion tho.

I think we will be ok without DKjr. We have played so much without him at this point. I think everyone understands. Plus it probably really drives home to the newer 2nd team guys how important it is to be prepared.
