D'Andre Payne

If we say it's not ideal to lose players when trying to rebuild and that replacing them with a FR who's never seen a college field is a not a better scenario, we're somehow wishing failure upon Butch. The inferring that goes on is strong.

When you come swooping in and defend Butch and staff when a poster hasn't mentioned the coaches expect to be labeled. Butch doesn't need your bodyguard services on the Internet, but if one mentions Butch directly then go ahead and assume your role. But when one makes a point that's irrelevant of the staff then don't bring it back to that.

That all got gommulgooked somehow...I suspect you had a good point before the seizure took your punctuation abilities away...chew on an aspirin and resubmit please.

Way to gloss over Kamara. And it had nothing to do with saying one was better than the other. It had more to do with you putting words in someone's mouth and creating your own argument. Only person that needs to step up their game with logic and reasoning is you kid. Now go back to the sandbox where your simpleton tricks work on people more clueless than you. You're out of your league with me.

Hahaha typical response from you. You divert from answering the questions posited, because in hindsight you realize how doltish you sound.

You said Butch is replacing the departed players with better players. How was this denouement formulated?

On a quality level with your post about Kansas and Mangino. You typed that mess up and thought it was acceptable for submission?

Bowl looked up a word two months ago...finally got to use it! :clapping:

No offense, but I think you are reading way too much into this. The fact is when you sign so many kids, some will end up leaving. I understand your (legitimate) concern because some of these players were highly touted and a few even got some PT, but with Butch recruiting as many players as he has been these last two years this stuff happens.

I'd be more worried about a culture (environment? pattern? idk what to call it) problem forcing guys out if it were some of the cream of the crop from the class. JMO

Since when am I obligated to answer any question from you? You made some nonsense up that I never said. You have your own arguments in your own head. Only thing doltish around here is you thinking you have any point. You couldn't stay on point if you were nailed to one. Difference is, you are too foolish to see how everything you are accusing me of you are perpetrating yourself.

Since you like to ask questions and jump all over the place, how do you know that Scott and Hendrix are worth a damn? Scott went to East Carolina which tells me he's not ready for big time college ball. And Hendrix's competition wasn't the strongest when he was in high school. Not to mention, anyone that whines about getting yelled at doesn't have it anyways. I can tell by looking at you that you wouldn't get it. There doesn't appear to be an athletic bone in your body. There, I answered your questions that had nothing to do with the argument I was having with the other hand wringer. Try and keep up moving forward. And kill it with trying to mock others intelligence when you are showing a lack of intelligence yourself.

Still you since you apparently don't have a grasp on what the term 'facts' mean. Last I checked a 'fact' is not saying that a previous years class is a certain ranking and then admitting to not accounting for attrition in other programs. 'Facts' aren't using one team to make broad statements that other teams doesn't have the same attrition. So no his 'facts' weren't sufficient and neither was your response.
The only response you would find sufficient is "Butch gets it!"

You need to calm down.

This thought process just doesn't make sense to me though. You can go back and recalculate our star average but what does it matter if our ranking drops to 20 when we have producers like Hurd, Barnett, Robertson etc etc. I would much rather have a 2015 recruiting class ranked 23rd that in the future produces (hypothetical) 3 SEC ALL Americans than a class ranked 9th with one. I feel like what you are doing is pointless in focusing on the ranking instead of the actual production we are getting out of the class.

Edit: BTW I'm also new so welcome to VolNation, and I truly am not trying to flame you. I'm just trying to make this point because I feel like people are getting too caught up in "4 stars leaving" instead of looking at the insane production (for freshman) the 2014 class has had, so I hope the point is well receive and I'm not coming off as a dbag

A few pages back, I posted that if he went by the same star rating as I did, then I had us dropping to 3.6 stars, not 3.2.

However, I think stars are not that important, especially when you get on campus. Some 3* players beat out 4* players. Once they arrive to campus, stars go away.

Also, star ratings aren't the best way to compare classes. Some teams only take 18-22 recruits some years, while others take over 30. One team might have a low star rating because they took a punter, kicker, and maybe a long snapper.

I hated losing the players that transferred, but it's attrition. Every team deals with it.

Exactly! This should have been expected, looking back. If we all knew a head of time that this was going to happen then we wouldn't have all these, "The sky is falling, the sky is falling", people, or the ones blaming the coaching staff, or the one's who continuously argue this is an issue. It's not so much of an issue as it is just the way it is for us right now. We are rebuilding, and it isn't a normal rebuild. Two coaches prior to Butch have trashed this program!

If you simpletons want to have a pecker measuring contest, take it somewhere else. I've read 3 pages of crap and don't know if Payne is leaving or not. What's going on with him?

In Rivals' Top 25, Tennessee currently has had the most attrition, with six players. The next highest is Auburn with four, one of which was tragically killed in a shooting. Auburn has had only one four star player leave from its 2014 class. We've had five four star players leave...do the math. This is anything but good.

you just made that up literally; attrition includes not qualifying UT had all 32 signees qualify which is rare

UGA, Bama, LSU AU any other major program you want to use as examples, aren't in the same boat as us. They're not trying to rebuild. Yall are the same tribe that bemoan others during the season to give Butch time, we're rebuilding. Then discount the effect losing players can have on that rebuilding effort and use UGA as proof it's ok.

Don't ***** at others next year, if we have 7 FR seeing significant minutes.

You still build depth the same way. You can't build depth over night. It takes four years. You and I want the same thing, but we disagree that on the timeline. You can't ask butch to keep all players because you're asking him to do the impossible. Technically, he only lost five to transfer because two were out of his hands. One for academic fraud and the other to hitting his girlfriend a lot. So he only lost five, while GA lost 10 last year. I realize it will take four years I just wished people like you would understand you can't ask Jones to do something that the leagues best coach can't do and that's keep everybody happy.

Which DE committment is more talented than Henrix? CB better than Payne? TE better than Helm?

If that's what you got out of the flow of the exchange last night, grab a seat with the rest of the Eeyore like fans in this thread. And what has any of the above guys done to suggest they are talented? Does nonathletic guys rating guys doing drills in shorts mean they are really good football players? If a person is a quitter, can't take being yelled at by coaches, etc. they will never be that good.

I don't know if either were worth a damn, they weren't around long enough to prove themselves either way. They hurt depth regardless. But that's the difference in you and me. Because they didn't contribute significantly as a FR you say they're not a loss and we're replacing them with better players. Whereas I'm willing to give them more than 1 season. And where did I make up an argument in my head, you explicitly said the guys we've lost are being replaced by better players. I asked who is better and how do you know by using several names in the recruiting class. I'm sorry I shot a hole in your pie in the sky argument.

FTR, we have no slots to backcount so the most Butch can sign is 28, and only 25 can enroll. So we're either having walk-ons or kids will get cut loose. Moral of the story; if we have 85 and lose 30 to graduation and attrition we can't replace them with 30 this year. So the end result is we're shorthanded from a total roster standpoint.
