Dan Patrick ask Peyton his plans after retirement

I just can't picture, in any way, the thought of Peyton Manning being a position coach under any head coach. He is a hall of fame, MVP, super bowl winning quarterback in the NFL, and he is going to come in and take orders from a head coach that hasn't accomplished a fraction of what he has, and an OC that he is smarter than? I just don't see it. Ever.

Keep UGA away from him. Ha. He could teach the Dawgs about QB bootlegs.

He would make a good qb coach but I think he would even more useful in play design and formation packages.

I don't think you can be a partial paid QB coach or offensive asst. It is either all or nothing, so I would see Peyton working better at expanding the Manning camp and keeping his ties to UT as the same prestigiuous alum that he already is. His presence and opiniioins are always welcome. I don't know how well he would relate to college football's current student athlete. He is a special individual with a work ethic and drive for perfection that probably is equaled by .5% of current college athletes. I see that as something that could become frustrating for him to deal with. I think he is like his dad in that he values family so much that coaching would really be a guilt burden that would wear on him. I didn't come here to take a leak on the fire but just thought I would offer an alternative view.

He has taken orders from HC's pretty much all of his life?

I would love it, but I just can't imagine him wanting to jump in the car and burn up I-75 or I-40 all the time recruiting. I see him being a great teacher, but I doubt he would like the recruiting aspect. I hope I'm wrong.

I thought he was in training to become the Papa John's national sales manager because he keeps showing up in their ads.

I think this has already been arranged.

That is why we have a awesome 4* committed for this class

The #1 QB in the country from INDIANA committed for 2017 and lead for the #1 QB in the country in 2018.

Butch is already dropping the news to the QB CRUITS.

Sheridan is moving on this fall as his GA internship is up.

AZZANI and MAHONEY will move one.

Debord is OC/OL
Peyton is QB Coach
Tee Martin is WR/Passing Game Coordinator

We win National Titles ever year.

BTW, if Manning were our QB coach, we'd have our choice of HS QBs. I am down with this.

Not only HS QB but WR also. They want thrown to from those top QBs.

Edit: It may affect the whole offense recruiting positions now that I think about it which is great.

This part of the article was funny to me for some reason:

“We play on the soccer team, go Vols. I think it would be a huge recruiting advantage and then maybe I’d get to see him around the facilities. That would be cool,” said Michele Christy who plays on the UT women’s soccer team.
