I think coaching would be too much work for Peyton. If he didn't reach the level of success that he did in the NFL, then I could see him still driven to coach. Like Spurrier was.

However, if Peyton did return to coach in anyway in Knoxville, it would be wildly successful in recruiting and development. Wins would surely follow. Would be so awesome.

Was this a separate comment from the one a month or so ago? It was discussed at length in here. If Peyton again commented on his interest in the program Butch needs to make this happen. It would be an absolute game changer for our program...like no.1recruiting classes in the nation game changer. Also, butchs greatest deficiency so far has been the ultra conservative game management while leading. If Peyton were to one day be in charge of the offense I think Butch would stay out of the way and let him do his thing. And unlike Butch, I think Peyton would understand that even though we much have a lead mid way through the second quarter, there's still a lot of game left. Hopefully that would prevent the meltdowns that offered earlier this season

I think this is from several weeks ago and there was a lot of discussion about it then. Could be wrong, but I think that's the case.

Interesting. There was a time where Manning wouldn't talk to Patrick, I can't remember why.

BTW, if Manning were our QB coach, we'd have our choice of HS QBs. I am down with this.

Manning being QB coach is a no brainer. Money is not an issue, and any amount of time he spends coaching our QB, would make them better. I would hope to think that by now the offer is now on the table and always will be. Go get you 2 more SBs and then show up ready to work.

Datestamp says it's 2 months old.

I do know Peyton attends whatever Vols game there is on his BYE. That says a lot also.

My money is on him NOT coaching at UT. He will hang around and support the program and give it credibility like a Joe Namath at Alabama...only sober.

It would be an easy gig. Teaching QBs would come natural and he likes it. At a school where he has a street and statue. He's a God. He would have literally zero pressure ever. And recruiting would be easy. He'd get who he wants. He could actually help other positions just by showing up on visits. People would probably invite friends to meet him he's a frign celebrity. It would be monumental to the program to say the least.

Manning has a hand in all his decisions, and has the final say in all business affairs........He will assuredly take advice, but his affairs will not be deposited in a blind trust for others to manage......Peyton is a pretty sharp character and will have more on his plate than be a quarterback coach...........that would be cool however

would be huge to have manning as a qb coach. just think how cool it would be if you were a HS 5* WR and you're running routes, during a visit, for one of NFL's best qbs of all time. would be a no brainer which school to pick.

Manning has an effect on everyone he teams with, he makes everyone better. I have no doubt he could do the same in the coaching field. even if it's only a QB/OC position.
