Daily "Freak Out" Thread - Sorry Guys

Sorry in advance. I know that a lot of '15 and '16 recruits came out of this weekend with very positive things to say. And I think Cecil Cherry has the potential to be the next Al Wilson. And for the most part, our '14 recruits are about as close as they can be, and on top of that the things that they are saying help me believe that they understand that they will be rebuilding and it doesn't matter what our record is this year.

Our 2014 recruits are about as close to what as they can be? Sorry, but I don't understand what you are trying to say there.

He is saying they are tight, bros, pals

My understanding is this. Powell could be the last offense Athlete type spott. The others were waiting to commit, so they may have lost the spot. Sadly Truitt, Lee and Doss fit that category. I am hopefuly Butch told them that instead of leading them on for the rest of the cycle.

Right now it is a numbers game and we should be very choosy. We need at least 2 more OL, 2-3 more DT's, 3 more DB's, 3 More LBs, 1 more DE. That leaves 1-2 slots left for WR, QB or whatever.

I assume we are waiting on the following people. You can substitue 2-3 others on OL and DL, but this is really the list we would like to close with. This is why we pullsed back on recruitment on some of the Athlete/WR types.

According to the guys filling in for Ainge today we can take 30. It was asked earlier if Jabo Lee gave us a spot back and they said it did.

This makes a lot of sense. It seems like we have a lot of spots left when you look at the number. But from your post I see why some might re-open other options

Excellent post!

Poona Ford was ignored and turned off? I must have missed that.

What's happening is our staff is kicking ass on the recruiting trail and guys better jump on board or they'll lose their spot to someone of equal or better talent. This is a good thing for UT recruiting, not a bad thing.

The problem is, many of us on here get emotionally involved with particular recruits and when that recruit loses his spot or chooses to go elsewhere, for whatever reason, feelings get hurt. Don't do that.

I like Truitt, Lee, Doss, etc but if those guys don't end up Vols I feel pretty confident that their spot will be filled with someone just as good or better. At least that seems to be the case so far with Butch and staff. JMO

I am feeling confident in our class and believe we'll end up with the guys that want to be here. One positive I've noticed is how much camaraderie the class is having amongst each other, and I think it will continue to build their desire to stay here. When others (ie Poona Ford, Josh Malone) who may be a little on-the-fence really start jiving with the group, I think it will solidify their commitments.

Furthermore, there was a post the other day (which I read but did not respond to) asking who would be the MOST likely to decommit... My answer there was Lawrence Lee. I personally wasn't convinced he was the type to play SEC football, and from posts and pictures of the other commits, I saw him as the biggest outlier as being part of the 'team.'

Callahan said the staff viewed him as one of their top WR on the board. I'm worried.

If you are even remotely close to being right, this could come close to being the best recruiting class EVER. And I don't just mean for Tennessee.
