Sorry in advance. I know that a lot of '15 and '16 recruits came out of this weekend with very positive things to say. And I think Cecil Cherry has the potential to be the next Al Wilson. And for the most part, our '14 recruits are about as close as they can be, and on top of that the things that they are saying help me believe that they understand that they will be rebuilding and it doesn't matter what our record is this year.

All of those positive "ands" and I have a little freak out session still. It seems like something may have gone down over the weekend. L. Lee took down his UT commit status, Truit took down all hit UT pics, Doss was ignored and not happy either, Gaulden tweets that recruiting got shaken up and tough decisions are to come.

Is it possibile that something went down over the weekend? Did we have too many guys in? I know i am looking too deeply into comments made from kids 12 years younger than me, and I'm sure atleast 1 of the negatives i put above will likely prove to be inaccurate.

JMO....I know the recruiting season is very young and I still have complete faith in CBJ and his staff to get an awesome class in

Poona Ford was ignored and turned off? I must have missed that.

What's happening is our staff is kicking ass on the recruiting trail and guys better jump on board or they'll lose their spot to someone of equal or better talent. This is a good thing for UT recruiting, not a bad thing.

The problem is, many of us on here get emotionally involved with particular recruits and when that recruit loses his spot or chooses to go elsewhere, for whatever reason, feelings get hurt. Don't do that.

I like Truitt, Lee, Doss, etc but if those guys don't end up Vols I feel pretty confident that their spot will be filled with someone just as good or better. At least that seems to be the case so far with Butch and staff. JMO

I agree with everything Ron said and echo his question about Poona Ford.

Where did you hear he was ignored?

Hard to believe Ford would be ignored given he's at a position of need! He's been there before so they knew how tall he is! Jmo

Remember guys that you're talking about 16,17, & 18 year olds. Was it easy for you to decide on your future plans at that age? Yes there will be some minds that will change between now now and next Feb. Just keep in mind that the fate of the world doesn't depend on these guys. (Wait what am I saying, the people in charge of the world are more clueless than these teenagers)

I thought I read it here. Went back through his thread and couldn't find it. Sorry for starting a nasty rumor. I must have confused it with Doss. He's got someone close that has been updating us with info too...

I have retracted the Poona statement so noone else has to read it.

Recruiting is and will always be fluid until the LOI is signed on National Signing Day....strap in and enjoy the ride!

Not sure this is warranted considering where we stand right now in recruiting compared to our history at this point in the recruiting season.

My understanding is this. Powell could be the last offense Athlete type spott. The others were waiting to commit, so they may have lost the spot. Sadly Truitt, Lee and Doss fit that category. I am hopefuly Butch told them that instead of leading them on for the rest of the cycle.

Right now it is a numbers game and we should be very choosy. We need at least 2 more OL, 2-3 more DT's, 3 more DB's, 3 More LBs, 1 more DE. That leaves 1-2 slots left for WR, QB or whatever.

I assume we are waiting on the following people. You can substitue 2-3 others on OL and DL, but this is really the list we would like to close with. This is why we pullsed back on recruitment on some of the Athlete/WR types.

Our 2014 recruits are about as close to what as they can be? Sorry, but I don't understand what you are trying to say there.

When Powell committed, it meant that we didn't need Truitt anymore. The message being sent is that you better jump on board if you want to be part of this great class. I think Truitt wanted to be a Vol but he was still looking around.
