Fair enough. Abrams averaged 9 points as a freshman in the SEC. Both changed schools every year. Barnes is a culture guy and this just doesn’t look like a recipe too me. Granted, Barnes has earned the right, so we’ll see.

I’m just saying he’s closer to Abram’s than what we were being hinted at with the super team. First Juke, now Dowd, who was entering the portal with a no contact and now he’s trending to Auburn? Auburn? Really?

Barnes made a conscious decision to let all these guys walk. What we have so far is not exactly moving the needle. Still plenty of time, but time is not your friend in the portal.

Portal hasn’t even been open that long so….

Barnes is the best coach we ever had.

There’s no legitimate reason not to trust him.

That is how Tennessee ranked in PPG the last 7 seasons. Going 7 seasons and never cracking even the top 50 nationally means you do not put a premium on scoring and you do not put pressure on your players to score more.

imagine Tennessee having one or two years in the top 10 in scoring and we would have a national title most likely.

You love high tempo and hate analytics, which is fine. Folks have their preferences, some of them are more amusing than others when they voice them.

It’s misleading as well:
-when you force the other team deeper in the clock, there are fewer possessions in the game. If you don’t play defense, you score more points because you have more possessions. Alabama a good example.
-the difference between for example 80th in ppg and 20th is 3-4 points…a 3 pointer that didn’t rim out, making 2 of the 10 missed layups or 3-4 made fts and shooting 16/20 from the line in a game instead of 12/20 and not missing the front end of 3 straight 1 and 1’s which is the equivalent of going 0-6

Yeah. None of that proves the claim. He just stresses defense more. He certainly knows offense

Have you considered how tempo affects these numbers? You should look at something like points per possession combined with shot volume to prove your point. (To be honest, offensive rating on KenPom is probably better still than those). I don’t have enough time to look those up, but I’m almost certain that we were top 50 in KenPom offensive rating basically every year with Barnes since we got good.
