Dabo fired?

There's no way he just walks away when he's owed the kind of money he's owed to get fired. As he said in his press conference, he's only 55. If he was 65 or 75, sure, then he might just walk away.

Clemson is in a spot where they will not simply pay to get a new coach to replace Dabo and actually take the program to a new level..... Dabo built that program and he has had a short run of flops at top rated QB recruits. Either he gets back to developing generational QB's or he doesn't. But Clemson program will falter drastically when Dabo is no longer coaching there.

Zero chance Dabo gets fired any time soon. They could go 1-11 this season and he still would not get fired.

He's won at least 10 games every year but 1 since 2011. They'll finish 7-5 or 8-4 probably. There is even a small chance they can run the table and get to the ACCCG. The only ranked team remaining that they play is FSU.

Stoops's dad also died on the field of a heart attack coaching a HS game, and he had told people for years (not publicly) that he wasn't going to let that happen to him. I don't know if Dabo has that in him. He seems too stubborn and defiant.
Stoops was also the highest paid coach in the country until Nick Saban was hired at Alabama for 1 million more than he made, but he received a bonus that made him the highest-paid coach again the following year. So if he invested wisely he probably had a nice nest egg. Of course he's back into coaching in one of these smaller professional leagues now so...
