How hard is it to throw strikes?
Apparently that is passé.

It is ridiculous. They have one job and most of them overthink it beyond belief. Throw strikes on the edges, move it vertically, change speeds, don't tip your pitches, hold runners, occasionally field your position. That's it. If you cannot do that find another occupation.

Command the zone. It is the only way to pitch successfully over the long haul.

Geez, it hasn't been that long ago they had to hit, bunt, move runners and run the bases as well.

I know I sound like a broken record, but they still have three starting position players who are sub-Mendoza in the line-up nearly every game at the mid-point of May.

Defense only players are a dime a dozen. Decent D with good hitting combined with good pitching is more successful historically. #28 in BA and #23 in OBP will not get it done over the course of the season. They have been fortunate with having timely hitting at times to make the most out of that they have.

Hopefully the bats get hotter on a consistent basis.

How much longer do we think it will be before Arroyo gets the call? At this point I don’t know what he has to prove at AAA.
Which is my point about the pathetic hitting of three starters. Young talent over the mediocre to poor wannabes any and every day of the week.

Send a message to the vets, get it done or get gone.

This team is only going to go as far as the pitching will take them. Granted the offense is a problem and there are possibilities in the minors to address that but rearranging those deck chairs aren't going to win us games where we give up 8 and 10 runs. The pitching is the reason we're losing now and there aren't many options there. Injuries have created a depth problem. Are we desperate enough to call on Trevor Bauer? I don't see that happening

You can’t convince me when we had Chafin in Louisville he wasn’t better than some of these bums in the pen.
In looking at Chafin's recent past he's pretty much just a LOOGY. They need someone who can eat innings. They're getting Caleb Ferguson back. They don't need a 4th LH reliever. It looks like no one has picked him up in any fashion

Tito does not want to call Burns as ace. Yet, that is what he is.

This should not be rocket science. Build the staff around Burns and Abbott. Trade as needed. You need guys who have physical and mental stamina and durability. Pitchers on the IL and rehab assignments constantly do you no good.
