There's a reason Livingston is in his mid 20s and has been cast off or passed over by other organizations. He's not a major league pitcher. I would grant that the minors are better stocked than in the Schott years, but that's not saying much.and then there is livingston. he wont be as good as bailey or cueto but he will be better than any of our 3-5 starters we have right now. You also have to admit that the reds minors teams are improving in overall talent.

26th to 12th is a pretty big jump. that is saying a lot. They must be doing something right. The Reds, who were rated 26th in terms of minor-league organizations last year, will be rated 12th by Baseball America in the next issue.
BA says this about the state of the system:
"When new GM Wayne Krivsky's regime scrapped previous policies, such as a tandem system for starting pitchers and taking the first pitch for hitters, RHP Homer Bailey and 1B Joey Votto took off last year. OF Jay Bruce gives the system more star power, though depth is lacking."
Watched the game on the dish. Both starting pitchers were outstanding. Belisle looked like a pitcher that could win 12-15 games.Belisle had another very impressive start from looking at the box score. If we can get that effort out of him fairly consistintly, a couple wins from lohse and get anybody (livingston, bailey, or other) in there for milton we could have a very solid year.
