D4H's 2017 Tennessee Vols Predictions

When UT finishes outside the top 2 in total defense he will be back to remind us that he didn't mean statistically! "it doesn't tell the whole story" but rather his keen understanding of film that puts us in the top 2.

Rinse and repeat if UT doesn't win the NC.

Obviously. I'm not new around here. :)

But, was my comment wrong?

Once again, you are just throwing out buzzwords with no concept of what they mean. GT ran the ball 90 times and UT had 1 tackle for loss. Tech averaged over 5 yards a carry. UT almost never made contact in the backfield. What UT's defenders were doing is the exact opposite of "flowing to the ball." They were waiting for the ball to come to them.

Kinda hard to get TFLs when the D Line is lining up 1 yard off the ball, trying avoid the cut blocks and injuries. butch didn't want any injuries. I don't blame him, prolly thought he would out score them out of the gate, hard to do with a first start qb.

Knowing that he has a first time OC, and a new QB, it wouldn't make sense for Butch to assume that sort of offensive production in game one of the season.

Tech was horrendous on defense last year. Idk, I don't like the idea of throwing the defense under the bus just yet, no matter how ugly they performed last game. The game didn't matter and I can see why butch wanted to stay away from the injuries. Got lucky with a comeback, seems to be a reoccurring theme under CBJ.

Good grief, we are going to get run over. Right now I'm praying Saban has mercy on us and keeps it under 50.

Prepare to look foolish in 7 weeks. That game will be tight back and forth defensive affair. Our guys will show up and look like the best defense in that country that day.

Next he will be telling us our defense is better than Florida State :eek:lol:

Way better. Florida State doesn't have our d-line. And as good as Derwin James is, he's only one player. Our defense is significantly more talented and will have more players drafted.

Right now I'm counting 11 future NFL players playing significant snaps for our defense:

DE Jonathan Kongbo
DE Darrell Taylor
DE Kyle Phillips
DT Kendal Vickers
DT Kahlil McKenzie
DT Shy Tuttle
LB Daniel Bituli
CB Emmanuel Moseley
CB/S Rashaan Gaulden
S Nigel Warrior
S Micah Abernathy

And this doesn't include Darrin Kirkland Jr. and Austin Smith that are also future NFL players that are currently out. This defense is loaded with talent and will be straight up filthy once the SEC schedule starts.

What happened to you saying Justin Martin will be a first round pick.

I'm not gonna include Justin Martin in there until he stops playing dumb. Physically he's got 1st round corner ability. Mentally he seems to break down for too often.

Which has been said countless times during your headache inducing rants over and over about him. It's not when he stops playing dumb, its if he ever starts playing well and exhibiting the fundamentals of the position, which he has never been able to show.

Wrong. He played really well and exhibited great fundamentals in the second half of the 2015 season. Remember he replaced Moseley as the starter in the Alabama game. And from then on he played really well. There were some on here including me that thought he was playing better than even Cam Sutton at the time. And it's a major reason why everyone had him penciled in as the starting corner in 2016 opposite Cam Sutton before the start of fall camp.

Justin Martin has played good football here before. Lets just hope he finds that ability once again.

Justin Martin playing good football is the same as saying D4H is right on predictions. Both happen about 1 out of 100 chances.

So he passed the D4H eye test, but failed reality's on-the-field test?

How does that grade out in contributing to our 4xdepth?

I'm asking for a friend.

I bet you scout for the Browns.

On that note, Myles Garrett is going to miss several weeks with an injury. I'm not sure I've ever seen something more detrimental to a player's career than D4H's praise.

Maybe we can get him to espouse Kim Jong Un as a guaranteed HOF leader? (worth a shot anyway)
