D reese putting In work

I've seen guys bust faces, chest, backs, achilles, etc doing basic bench, squats or leg press. I don't see that exercise as being any less safe than loading 400lbs on your neck and squatting with your knees wrapped up so they don't burst.

I like it personally! Doing the $H1T that no one else does gets you ahead! IMHO

:eek:k:

No joke. Definition of ironic.

Discussing obvious coaching errors isn't the same at all as people questioning a workout exercise when they have no training experience.

Maybe kenpom has a grammar stat class and can teach you the definition of irony and other words or phrases that may be a struggle.

You base questioning coaching decisions on the fact that you played basketball.....well most on here have worked out with weights.....i have taken advanced kinesiology classes and been an athletic trainer but not on the D 1 level. i also worked under the personal trainer for the Florida Gators during the 90's. i would have been fired for putting an athlete at risk doing that exercise the way it appears.

Whatever man. Every fan around questions coaches. That's why this place exists. There is a difference betweeen commentary and opinion.
The rest of your post is dramatic bull****. I didn't say anything about playing. You pulled that out of the air. Don't do that bs please.

and questioning the questioner is part of the cycle. You obviously have experience, whereas a few that just want to support Nic, but haven't seen a gym in a decade, want to blast the new guy. You know what I'm talking about.
As for wall sits, it's about the best possible exercise for basketball players to keep low and help with explosion. Question is, is holding it until your knees are purple like they used to do, and still do I guess, healthy for the joints? Have they found they can put more focus on the glutes and hammies by putting heavy weight on for shorter periods? Because if you are strong there, you tend to have fewer ankle and knee wear and tear issues.

Question? Does the position somehow prevent the catastrophe? Is there a trained spotter? It looks ridiculously dangerous. I have been looking online for something similar. Find nothing of that degree.

Exactly why I am calling BS on the original pictures lol. It is hard enough to do a wall sit with just your body weight to hold up.

so it's photoshopped?

The strength coach tweeted out pictures of about 5 or 6 different guys all doing them, each with different weights.

It is like I said in the other thread, either they are sitting in a seat that is attached to the pillar or they are using rubber weights IMO. I think they are posting this all in good fun.

I could be wrong, but I just don't see how this is even possible lol.

Leg strength you can press/hold a lot of weight. Its really as simple as that.

That looks dumb to me. I'm not an expert but I did stay at a holiday inn express last night.

Does to me to. Cant imagine what that helps exactly. Maybe it's a Navy Seal mind trick on yourself or something. Looks stupid. If they want to get funny about it, have a 300lb woman sit on their lap while they squat against the wall. They should be doing workouts that isolate all the muscles in their legs. The stronger your calves and Achilles are the higher you will leap.
