Carver free safety Darren Myles Jr. has officially received a scholarship offer from Florida.
Gainesville, Fla. was just one stop Myles made during a recent whirlwind tour of colleges during his spring break.
We saw the Gators scrimmage and met with coach [Urban] Meyer, Myles father, Carver coach Darren Myles, said. Coach Meyer said they want him in the program. So they offered him.
Darren is intrigued by the offer. Who wouldnt be intrigued by Florida? Florida was one of the schools he was interested in before his recruiting took off.
Following a brief stop at Central Florida, the road trip got even better when they began the trek back to Atlanta before heading to Alabama and Tennessee.
Carver running back Demond Dennis, who was tagging along on the journey, received word via phone that Auburn had pulled the triger on an offer.
Demond has offers from Auburn, Alabama and Miami of Ohio, coach Myles said. This is a kid that rushed for over 1,600 yards in just 10 games last season.
Not to be upstaged, Myles received immediately two new offers.
We got a call from [assistant head] coach Jon Tenuta of Notre Dame and he said they were offering Darren, coach Myles said. Then we got home and opened the mail and Darren had received an offer from Clemson.
Prior to last week, the 6-foot-2.5, 185-pound Myles already held offers from programs such Alabama, Auburn, Central Florida, Georgia, Georgia Tech, Kentucky, Michigan, Mississippi State, North Carolina State, Purdue, Tennessee, Vanderbilt, Wake Forest and West Virginia.
