So with five defensive lineman (3 tackles 2 ends) committed for 2010 i have several questions for you recruiting guru's.

1. how many more lineman CAN we take.... there are several huge names still on the board that seemingly have valid interest in tennessee... how many of these guys can we committ before we are "full" for this class?

2. with 5 committs so far what is the recruiting pitch to those remaining on the board..... is it... hey two committs are JC guys and they will be gone in two years... is it... guys look at the talent that you will play with on the line it will be unstoppable....? how do we convince the rest of these guys.

3. and last but not least how many more DO we take.... out of those remaining who are the most likely to be clad in orange..... corey miller? etc....

Not many more.

If some beast wants to play DL for the Vols and the staff is willing to take his commitment, now the time to speak up is now.

I'm thinking we take one more 4 year guy at DT. We aren't done at DE though.

There's always the chance that a stud committing to UT causes a commitment to look elsewhere.

I'm gonna say at least 1 more, maybe 2. I don't believe we will get another JUCO guy or another guy off the radar. It will be a stud that everyone has heard of. Like Quarles, Miller, Willis, or Ego. If it looks like Broussard won't qualify, we will definitely get 2 more. I really hope Risean can get his grades in order. He is a player...

I didn't feel this way before however I now think we take 3 more underclassmen that will project as DEs or DTs.

I think 2 more, but there are atleast 4-6 guys I would think we would accept committments from.

Quarles
Hailes
Miller
Willis
Ferguson
Powell

umm we definately take Ferguson and Powell, and then decide. By the way I think you forgot Stripling, he was a beast in that video.

Dang. 8 in one class fighting for 4 playing spots may be a little too many. That's not counting the sophmores Hughes, Walls, Jeffrey, Fowlkes, and Bohannon next year and the probable 5star Anthony Johnson coming in 2011. But "too much talent" would indeed be a good problem to have...

We should be in nice shape Scolly wise if as many people that say they will enroll in January. There is a lot of depth to make up. Who knows if we pick up a few blue chippers and even someone like McAdoo gets an offer if he excels this fall.

This is getting me pumped just thinking about the lineup for 2011. I've changed my opinion after looking at the future depth chart. We definitely need another speed rusher at DE and a solid DT in 2010. The 2011 Vols DL:

DE
Sr- Sykes
Jr- Fowlkes, Bohannon
So- Jacques, Copeland

DT
Sr- Brown, Harris
Jr- Hughes, Walls, Jeffrey
So- Broussard
Fr- Johnson

There has been some talk on GQ that some may be turned away (Remember, we also have Anthony Johnson coming in the next class). If Jeffrey is switched to offense, that frees a spot. Basically Brown takes Langley's place and Harris takes the place of Brimfield (who moved into one of O-linemen spots left by Johnson, Baily, Myers). So actually, as far as incoming freshmen, you have Copeland, Broussard, and Smith. I think they would like to get two or three more of the following: Corey Miller, Willis, Stripling, Gholston, Ferguson, Powell, Uko, Quarles, Ash, Marsh, Hailes, Whitaker, Heimuli, Garrison Smith, Trail, Hill, Lemonier, etc.

Whoever we get, and whatever the rotation is, it is safe to say our DL over the next 3 years is just going to be nasty.

QB's beware...and I'm just sorry Tebags isn't going to get to experience the full force of them.

I propose we just sign them all, and in 2010 play 10 DL's and Eric Berry to defend all passes. :D
