Over or under?

I will take over. I think Monte has instilled an amazing scheme for what was one of the best D's in the country last year. I've said it before in a previous post. I doubt that we allow over 28 points being scored on us all year! Maybe I am TOO optimistic? Time will tell.

Thoughts?

That is a stretch...I mean who knows if we get in a shootout or what....The most we allowed last year was 30 to Florida and they shut it down in the 4th qt.....I say it is over 28...It will be around 35 I am guessing.

UT- 31
FLA-28

And that, to me, will be the most points scored on us in a single game all year. I think our whole D will be better than last year.

I am on a '' We will beat Florida'' spill right now. Until we don't this year, I will continue to think so. Our defense will keep us in this game, and we wil win a shocker. I think the defense will keep us in all the big SEC games we play. Defense wins championships. (BUCS)

I think the defense will be good, not great. We will see what Monte does against the college spread, as he hasn't had to deal with it, in game. As far as the typical Cover-2 which we'll play against Bama/UGA, the entire defense is predicated on the front four getting pressure, so if they fail at this, it's going to be a long season.

And there is absolutely no way UT beats UF in the swamp this year. The oddsbooks in Vegas better be 1:1 UF.

It isn't happening.

I can't stand posers who says " It's a sure loss'' you do not know this.
You are right....There is no such thing as a sure loss....But it will be a major major upset if we win down there Manic....

I guess I am just telling you not to put money on it or anything like that.

I agree, Monte has brought an agressive scheme that will make it hard for teams to score on us. I say that Florida will only score 27 on us. However the gator D with everyone 2 deep returning will be good also. If we are to beat Florida, our D will have to score some as well. I would give my left nut and maybe my right one to if we could beat them!!!:D

FL will get there points.we can stay with them if we can get some turnover's and not turn the ball over.:eek:k:

the bad thing is that with our offense, we had better hope nobody scores 28 points on us this year. those might all be losses.

There aren't that many offenses good enough in the SEC to score 28 on UT this year I don't think.

But still, probably too optimistic with all of the solid players UT lost off that unit last year.

I don't know that I would say Monte's scheme is all that aggressive. He prefers not to blitz. His scheme is all about team speed and flying to the football. His best teams were able to generate pressure with the front four and then have the back seven cover tightly.

I think Monte will do fine, but he won't be running some crazy attacking scheme. Several Tampa players have said that as much as they hate to see him go they are looking forward to the defensive playbook opening up.

I might be in the minority, but I hate the thought of John Chavis at LSU.

I don't worry about Chavis at LSU. If your close with LSU in the fourth quarter you can win.

I agree I hate Chavis being gone as well....

Defensively with Florida we will have to hold them to 17 points to be in this game...they have a stout defense...If we hold them to 17 or under we have a good chance. If they score over that I worry
