Seems he only committed because his injury made him questionable. Now that he's on the mend, he bolts.
Somebody hasn't been keeping up.
This was happening even before the staff took over. The last staff hadn't contacted him in forever. The fact is with a hard 25 rule now, we couldn't afford to take a guy who might never come back to be 100%. Other programs may be in the position to take that risk, but not us.
Hate it for the guy, but, feel confident that he will land on his feet somewhere and hopefully have a great career. My guess is what someone said earlier. Staff told him they'd honor a medical hardship scholarship if he wanted to attend school, but when someone else said they'd let him play and believed in his recovery enough to take a risk, then they took him.
We've seen what torn ligaments can do to a player's career. Shy Tuttle and Justin Hunter come to mind. Shy just hasn't been the same, and Hunter was never the force he was prior to that ACL tear at Florida.
Best of luck to the kid.
The issue with Litaker is that he re-injured the same knee; he tore his left ACL in 2016 and re-injured it again in 2017. It
One ACL tear really isn't a big deal - Justin Hunter, for example, was still a 2nd-round draft pick after ACL reconstruction and has been in the NFL for 5 seasons now with no further knee problems. Unfortunately, when you re-tear a reconstructed "ACL" (e.g., the tendon graft or cadaver ligament where your original ACL used to be) in the same knee, it's much harder for the surgeon to reconstruct a second time. A reconstructed ACL is actually less vulnerable to injury than the original ACL, but when a reconstructed ACL does tear its usually very bad news.
There are a few athletes who've continued competing at a high level after ACL re-tears (e.g., Thomas Davis of the Carolina Panthers), but those players tend to be the exception. Let's hope Litaker has some better luck with that knee going forward.
LOL all these posters posting and have never stepped into the Recruiting forum to know the truth.
I pretty sure that CJP and staff haven't even contacted Litaker. Why do you think since the early signing period the staff has been throwing out offers and bringing some big names in on visits.
