Perhaps it's all just a media conspiracy to get the negavols posting here to quit saying our assistant coaches NEVER get offers for HC jobs.

We've now got all sorts of links that confirm an offer was extended and one was accepted while they've now got links to contradict that.

How wonderful the media is for helping us to realize our dreams here on the VolNation message board.

a lot of you are wonderring WHY CDC would take the duke job. he has a plan. he intends to be the first coach since CSS to win there. he will then become a legend, and in 4-5 years, when carroll or meyer, or somebody with a great job moves on, he will just swoop in and pick it up, at 6 or 7mil a year. see, it makes perfect sense.

How can any one really blame the guy?

He is given a chance to be a head coach again and he is going to take it.

Why would someone not choose a promotion and a 3-5 fold salary increase? No one needs to formulate any conspiracy as to why he took the job.

I don't blame Cut for taking a HC job...or really even taking the one at Duke although I don't think it's a very good one.

The only thing that has been puzzling me is that...if he is so highly regarded and his desire to be a HC again so well known...why has Duke been the only ones courting him? There were better jobs out there.

Just wonderin'.

Nope. He wanted an job with a school in the upper half of their league. Cut the Rut didn't get a sniff from GA Tech, NC State, UNC, Arkansas, Southern Mess, etc.

Nobody elese wants that Duke job - Cut is smart to get paid and take a shot in Durham.

Why would he choose Ole Miss?

I don't get your question in regard to my post. I am saying people like promotions and pay increases, that is why he took both of those jobs.
