I know there has been a lot of talk lately of Peyton coming back to Knoxville to coach in some capacity at TN. Forget about it. Here is an interview today from David Cutcliffe who has been in contact with Peyton since he retired. If anyone knew about Peyton's's desire to coach it would be Cut. Cut says he doesn't see it.

As for the talk of Manning becoming a coach, Cutcliffe doesn’t see it.

“I don’t see coaching at all ever in his future, but I certainly think there could be involvement in sports, whether it’s broadcasting or administrative or who knows,” Cutcliffe said.

Why would he want the aggravation of coaching? He can just be Peyton the rest of his life and sit and count his endorsement money and most importantly spend time with his children.

Some folks have a competative drive that can't be satisfied by counting money.

I say bring the kid to work with him, you know home school him.

Jump higher Vols.

It's interesting Cutcliffe said he was "somewhat of an actor". I could see him having a small role in a comedy... He would be better than Brett Favre in "There's Something About Mary".

Never convince the VN that Peyton won't coach at UT. Nobody loves the university more, but I have never seen it as a possibility. Just appreciate the MAN as a true VFL & move on...but that's just me. :whistling:

It may be a pipe dream of him being the QB coach at UT. But he has to much to offer kids out there to not share his gift and knowledge. Hopefully he continues the camps.

I don't think we will hear much out of Peyton period. I think he will do his annual stop in Knoxville and his passing academy then spend the rest of the time out of the limelight.

Good to hear. I don't want him to see him coach and certainly not at Tennessee.

I heard John McClain of the Houston Chronicle say that Peyton recently told him "unequivocally and under no uncertain terms" that he wants to go the "John Elway route" and help run an NFL organization and be part of an NFL ownership group.

Just let Peyton come back occasionally and help the qbs and coaches as a former player, come back to big games and show support on the sidelines IMO. And if he ever does come back to work for the University in any capacity, let it be as Athletic Director and nothing less.

With regards to UT, thats the way it should be IMO.

No matter whether he coaches or not, He'll still contribute in some way to make UT better. It may be just working out with qb's a couple of weeks in the summer, or some behind the scenes recruiting help. I know he'll make the Big Orange faithful smile again.

There's an article on BroncoWire that says Peyton wants to coach at the college level. Didn't read it cause I figured it was just another so called opinion. We'll know what Peyton does when he does it.

The author of the article must have thought he was posting to Twitter since it was less than 140 characters. I mean really- that is 8th grade journalism at best.

I hear a whole lot of folks throwing their opinions around. Cutcliffe doesn't see it, and I will pay a little more attention to what he thinks that some sportswriter trying to make a payday when there is nothing else to write about at the moment.

However, Peyton will do what he wants to do. And just because folks the man is very close to doesn't think it will happen doesn't mean it won't.

I doubt we will see Peyton listed as a coach. However, he does not need to be to share his gifts and knowledge. It would not surprise me if every QB on Tennessee's roster has a phone number stored in his cell phone to the sheriff. Just as it would not shock me if linebackers have a number to Al Wilson, or if all players have Inky's number.

Peyton does not really need to be a coach. But if he wishes to be a mentor? Why would anyone have a problem with that?

This. I had same thoughts as to why this was thread worthy - Cut's opinion matters a little more than some low level beat writer that wants to create clicks.

Now we can move along to focus back on the great team we have for 2016!

Cut's opinion does not coincide with my hopes and dreams, therefore, I plan to ignore that he ever said it.

Crafty move by Cutcliffe to discourage any potential suitors from pursuing Peyton, only to swoop in and secure his services
