Cutcliffe? (merged)

For the love of God, the next person who says Bob Stoops is the best candidate available should be given a lifetime ban.

And this thread is trash. If MH were to hire any of those candidates listed he'd be losing his job soon thereafter. I'm still not completely convinced that Fulmer is gone next year, even with no bowl game.

First, I'd rather have Terry Bowden than Tommy Bowden. Not that I would ever want Terry in a million years but that's my example of how pathetic Tommy is. David Cutcliffe loves Fulmer too much to take his job which is a good thing for us UT fans. It's pretty obvious who I want but if that doesn't happen atleast get a decent coach and not anyone on that list. Also, I beg Tennessee not to hire Skip Holtz either. Give us Muschamp or go after Butch Davis.

This list of names is hopefully not the case...That is not a good thing at all...Can anyone tell me why Mike Leach at Texas Tech has not gotten any offers or possibly why his name has not been brought up?...I think he has an innovative fast pace offense and I really do not know if he is a great coach but his offense looks potent to say the least...Lure him as a high profile OC?...Just a thought

Amazing ....of course there will be change, so why not just act like you got it from the top.....OK, I got one, JC is transferring to Fla to lead the gators to a NC, as Tebow is going Pro next season.

Why would folks not on the borad at UT get this info so easily???? Stirring the pot, I say.

When will the athletic board start making decisions about interviewing candidates?

I know he is older than what most of us want but if you look at the last four years out of the four seasons the two winning seasons happened while cutcliffe was back in knoxville. This season and the 2005 season were without cutcliffe 2005 was a losing season and this one looks like it could be just as bad maybe worse. 2006 and 2007 with cutcliffe we were much more competive minus the florida game last year.

We're done attempting to go back in time, which is what bringing back Cutcliffe after the '05 season was an attempt to do. It's time to move forward. The 90s are over.

I am in agreeance that would dont want cutcliffe back but I am only trying to point out that cutcliffe saved fulmers job as well as chavis. Fulmer lost it years ago.

Cutcliffe won't be in the mix, Relax Duke fans... Grobe already turned down the Clemson job saying "He is a Wake Forest guy"...Tubbs is possible, Bowden I would doubt...the REAL names being kicked around are quite exciting...Butch Davis leads that list...He IMO is the big prize out there.

Cutcliffe will be eliminated as a possibility when Duke loses its next 7 games. Anyone with half a brain should have already removed him from consideration.

Anyone with half a brain knows Bill Cowher would lose those exact seven games at Duke. Cutt is a good coach. He may not be for UT but he is a good coach.
