Cutcliffe gives ultimatum?

Oh, SO SO SO sorry. In December 2001, Johnson became the Commodores' head coach, after leading Furman University to the Division I-AA national championship game. Through the playoffs. I think he fits. Playa :peace2:

Fact remains, he didn't win a national championship.

More importantly, he isn't coming to UT. You'd have to be a fool to think Tennessee is hiring a guy who just went 0-8 in the SEC east.

Cutcliffe gave us an ultimatum?!?! What has this come to...

This is what happens when you allow an elite program to be killed by a coach who should have been fired 5 years before he was fired another coach we flees in the middle of the night after 1 year ... this is called chaos. This is how you DON't play the AD game. If Fulmer had been fired in 2004 we could of had ANYBODY.

A) I don't drink coffee. B) I still call BS because ESPN never waits until the next morning to make an announcement on something of this magnitude.

How about with your breakfast? Nothing is finalized. Just in principle, verbally. Vol fans should be happy. He won a bowl game at Vandy for God's sake. The guy isn't a slouch. By the way, he's also a high character guy unlike a certain someone. He gets 2 and 3 star recruits and turns them into Freshman of the Year, Earl Bennet, Jay Cutler, etc. Imagine what he would do with some real talent. We should be doing cartwheels in front of Neyland as far as I'm concerned. He won't win the press conference, just what matters: GAMES. :eek:k:

Now Knox News is reporting that Cutt is forming a staff to return to UT? They have no idea what they are talking about.

Were not this gullible. :disappointed:

Just reported on news that he has given Tennessee an ultimatum that if no offer by tomorrow that he is withdrawing his name from consideration.

So, no offer to Cutcliffe yet is good news. If only for the time being.

Well, my feeling is: We've down this road before. I think it is time for someone stable but also from the outside.

All of this talk with Cutcliff is just Hamilton throwing a bone to the board of Trustees... just a courtesy interview if you will because they want Hamilton out.

He just went 0-8 in conference. Guy's a real winner.

As I recall, our last head coach had an awesome winning percentage (sarcasm). Dude just be glad we might be able to salvage some recruits. He really would be a great hire if my source is indeed correct. Just think about in terms of being logical. Tennessee isn't a hot job right now. Embrace someone who has integrity, and respect for the University of Tennessee. Good move IMO.

Hope Cutcliffe stays at Duke. NO ONE from The Dukies gives orders to The University of Tennessee.

He isn't. He's setting terms for a dumbass AD who wouldn't give him the time of day a year ago, but saw fit to hire the likes of Lane Kiffin and Ed Orgeron to embarrass the program.

Now Hamilton turns to him after being turned down by other candidates, but is apparently leaving Cut twisting in the wind while he goes chasing some other pie in the sky.

Cutcliffe has every right to tell Hamilton make up his mind one way or the other.

I cant believe that UT would even consider Cut... He got fired from Ole Miss for crying out loud!!!!

I would love to know what is going on behind the scenes. I would venture to say that there is dissention in the "hiring committee". There are good coaches out there but I'd say that some individuals in the committee that are scared to hire a dynamic coach because of Kiffen's exit. It seems that the administration is running around like a chicken with its head cut off.
