Cutcliffe a candidate for Arky job?

What would you guys think about Trooper as OC if Cut leaves?

I like his intensity, he has a great repertoire with the players, and has done a very good job (for the most part) with very little to work with in Taylor, Rogers and Briscoe.

it would be too hard to chest bump the players from the booth.

As reported by ESPN over the weekend:

ESPN - Sources: Nutt expected to be out at Arkansas - College Football

confirmed by local media.

KAIT - Jonesboro, AR: Sources: Houston Nutt Out as Arkansas Razorbacks Coach

On 104.5 the Zone this am Jimmy Hyams said he think's Cut's name will come into early consideration. Apparently, Butch Davis is their #1 choice but Hyams said that per his sources Davis to Arky will not happen. Hyams went on to say that Cut is a Broyles favorite, but that may be what prevents him from getting the job because Broyles is on his way out and his input may not receive much consideration.

As time permits I will check out some Arky sites and see if there's any mention of Cut. I am interested if anyone in West Tn or Arky has heard anything else about this?

I'm right in the thick of it, in Fayetteville, and I haven't heard Cut's name.

Their's really only two that have floated that I think are somewhat realistic:
Mike Leach
Butch Davis- (I don't think he leaves NC)

Then Jimmy Johnson's name alway's pops up, but I can't see that at all.

Surely you are not serious?

Meh, he might be an inventive guy, we'll never know. He does have a great relationship with the players, and seems like the kinda guy that they would go to the end of the world for.

UT just always seems to be promoting from within, so it might be something to consider. Personally? I hope DC stays.

I like TT but would really have a hard time making him OC at UT when he's never called 1 play in CFB.

Troop is a great guy and a heck of a position coach. I would love to see him get a chance to call plays, but Im not sure he's ready to do that at the SEC level.

I would think that there would be more than a few openings should TT get promoted. The other coaches would have a fit!

But lets say Cut got an HC job.....who would he put on his staff??????

Correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't 2006 "call by committee" or was that 2005? If he has called plays, which we would never know, he might be an inside pick. I was moreso throwing that out there to see if anyone knew anything about how involved he is with the x's and o's. Also, we don't know if he designed the best routes for his WRs to run and pitched them to Cut to implement.
