An article on inside tennessee quotes Cut as saying UT must run better than last year in order to score enough points to win due to loss of starting receivers. Same article also discusses how the only returning starters on OL are both injured and quotes Fulmer as saying that there is not an Arron Sears caliber lineman on the team right now.

I just find it interesting that the OC is saying UT has to run and the HC seems to be saying don't expect too much from the OL, which has to run block if there's going to be a decent ground game. If I were a skeptic, I'd say we're looking at a pre-emptive excuse for not winning the SEC, again.

On a positive note, the FB and TE position seems ready to play. They can help the run blocking a lot. Coker is one of the very few backs UT has had who has the speed to break outside and run away from the defense when there isn't good blocking up front.

In other late-breaking news, Coach Chavis says we'll need better play from our defensive line this year.

It's going to be interesting to see what happens to the Fullback position. From what I've been seeing, it sounds like the FB's are all being turned into Tight Ends and H-backs.

Couldn't we at least have a game played before we doom this team and it's coaches in the 2007 season?

i've not heard fulmer make a "pre-emptive" excuse, he's just pointing out the problems the team has right now. Not even i'm biased enough to think Fulmer isn't "going to work like heck" to get the OL together and good enough by august. he knows that's one of his main problems and he's gotta correct it. give him the chance.

Two years ago Fulmer was talking about NC games this time of year - that got him a 5-6 record. He will never do that again. I expect to hear about the improvements this team needs many more times before kickoff.

Shelley, Hancock, and Rogers constitute a more talented group of WR's than Texas Tech or BYU have ever had... and they don't have trouble throwing the ball.

I'm not even sure that this group isn't better than any group that worked with Heath Shuler and they passed well... in fact, Rogers reminds me alot of Faulkner.

But more than likely any deep threat UT will have will come from one of the three new comers.

Alot of people have been positive about Lucas Taylor but I'll have to see it.

They aren't trying to throw the ball against SEC defenses.
