Curse of the Orange Pants?

Orange pants always home or away versus Bama, Florida, UGA, SEC title game and playoff games. That's my opinion, flame away.

In some of the most heartbreaking losses I've witnessed, the Vols were wearing orange pants. Very recently, the depths to which the program sank under Dooley is linked to his orange pants.

For decades, Tennessee fans have questioned whether there is or is not a curse on the Vols orange pants. What say you? Are the orange pants cursed? What orange pants losses haunt your memories? What exceptions (orange pants victories) dispute a curse?

I don't believe in magic, therefore I don't believe in curses.

A couple of things here....
1. I thought this was going to be a Dooley thread
2. Not sure if you can say we're cursed then start posting exceptions.

I posited the question, Are the orange pants cursed? I did not aver that they are cursed. There is nothing incongruous with drawing a parallel between orange uni pants and Dooley's orange pants if one is entertaining the question of a curse.

Yes, in presenting examples for/against the orange pants being cursed, I began with "exceptions" to the curse before posting examples of losses in orange pants.

As for orange-pants Dooley, about the only "exception" to his accursed tenure which I can name is the completion of the new practice facility.

If you actually believe in curses, then quidditch may be the sport better suited for you.

Dooley's stint at UTK is known for
  1. Orange pants
  2. Micro-managing; inability to retain a coaching staff
  3. Losing
  4. Unfathomable recruiting blunders
  5. New practice facility at UTK

See #1. Orange Pants.

You forgot Not allowing former Vols to visit! What a Doucher he was!! :banghead2:

BUT, if the Vols had worn the white-on-white unis, would they have upset the Gators on that day?

So if you don't actually believe they are cursed, then do you truly believe what color pants they wore that day had anything to do with the outcome?

:nono:

Most of the folks replying to this thread do so in the spirit of the thread. You want to troll, do it elsewhere.

Orange is the best. I don't understand why blue is consider for 1st place. It was a let down when they were passing out ribbons, I got a blue one and they told me it was because I won. I told them the real winner was the buster with the orange one.

Just one more curse to break this year. These past few years we have been rolling deep in curses and jinxes, time to work some of our good magic, get the mojo going again.

I think we should wear Orange pants every game. Nah we look too good in the storm troopers and it a not a fashion show. If a recruit is deciding based off fashion he better be a beast or Shoop's Orange Monsters will break you.

I believe someone can curse you or put a curse on you, but I draw the line at a hex, I don't believe in hexes. I'm certain I've got at least two to six jinxes in the family and I'm talking about just blood relatives, add up the jinxes on the in laws side and you coud almost convince me that hexes do exist.

The color of die in the fabric is irrelevant, I just prefer orange.

IMHO
The classic orange jersey w. white pants is the Tennessee "look."
The smokey gray unis should be used sparingly and only at home or neutral site games for which Tennessee is given the privilege of wearing home unis.
The white on white uni is the best for away games (unless the game is played in an open stadium during a snow storm).
If the host team opts to wear a white jersey, then go with the classic orange over white.

So basically you did this whole thread just to say you don't like the orange pants?
