Currie was hired as AD because Haslam wanted him to be AD. He could control him. Haslam wanted to hire Schiano as head coach for the Browns but was over-ruled. Now, he's looking for a GM he can control. As pay back to Schiano he put him in Currie's pocket.

I suspect (SUSPECT) that the hiring of Schiano was leaked by the UT Admin (?Davenport?) knowing that it would be a revolution.

Charlie Ergen has the ear of Davenport/DiPietro through his $100++ million funding through the MIT investment group he funds. He also has another coach on his mind that goes against the Haslam empire. I believe the coup d'etat is moving forward.

If we can destroy the Haslam cartel and banish Currie to AD of some remote Community College, we can maybe do something right.

Question? Were either Peyton or Fulmer involved in the selection or were they just being used as a smoke screen?

They were not even afforded the courtesy of being a smoke screen.

Manning butted heads with Schiano over knee targets. Currie led the charge to fire Fulmer.

Is this speculation?

Wasn't her. Davenport needs fired immediately also. The Assistant AD blew the whistle while Currie was in the air yesterday.

Fulmer was speaking in Chattanooga yesterday. Was asked about the Schiano hire and said "This is the first I've heard of it."

I liked Currie. I thought he was a smart guy. I kinda liked his secrecy during the process, made me think he was gonna be a dang ninja on this and bring UT a slam dunk hire.

Boy was I wrong.

IF, in fact, he was/is Haslam's puppet there is serious corruption in the administration of this university.

IF Currie was hired because Haslam wanted him because he could control Currie, that is unacceptable. I am sure this kind of thing happens a lot, but it is still unacceptable.

IF Haslam is beind all of this and wanted Schiano all along and got Currie hired to get Schiano hired....UT should do whatever it takes to have his position and power removed immediately.

IF Currie willfully went along with Haslam's plan, lied to everyone along the way and turned a blind eye to other potential candidates, he should be removed immediately.

IF Davenport knew what was going on and followed, that's another job that should be open immediately.

I am no legal expert, far from it, but this just reeks of fraud. The stench of the last month will remain on UT for years, maybe decades.

I know Haslam is the biggest booster. But someone needs to say to him "Thanks, but no thanks". Other boosters might start pulling their money back if he is allowed to continue.

I do NOT see how the 340 mil stadium reno will get done now.

340 million dollars is a boatload of money. Have you considered that it might be the root answer to many of our questions?

Not that I really disagree with your take that Currie is a puppet, but if Haslam is the owner of Browns and wanted to hire Schiano, who overruled him? He's the owner.

There are reports that Davenport and Currie are chummy but she did like the Gruden tweet. Not sure what to believe. There are a ton of rumors and speculation.
