wow....so he is defending his decision...what a moron....I would like to know which players at Tampa Bay and Rutgers he spoke with. A simple google search tells you how the Tampa Bay players really felt about him...

So basically Currie is saying Schiano is a quality candidate but he let the fans bully him out if the hire. I think I'd have respected him more if he'd gone through with it

^^^This! If this is your guy then own it.

How GS was the #1 choice is mind boggling. Take away the Washing Post article and look at facts.

He was 1 win above .500 at Rutgers.

After he was fired at TB he went unemployed for 2 years 2013-2015 unit Meyer hired him.

If he is so great why the employment gap? Why is he still an assistant and not a HC?

I was behind the AD in the hiring process assuming he was a professional. Man, was I wrong. Who in their right mind would trot out this guy and expect no reaction?? He must be unplugged from reality. Hire someone to hire the new coach.

Obviously, he is claiming that Schiano was Vetted, BUT it doesn't pass any Reality Test! Did he ask Peyton Manning?

Really???? Because this:
If you move beyond the PSU atrocity-

1. Schiano was reviled- and I mean absolutely REVILED- by every NFL player he coached.
2. He actively helped cover up a MRSA outbreak at Tampa.
3. He talked about a drug suspension of a player with the media in violation of the NFL collective bargaining agreement.
4. He rigged a team captaincy vote to get who he wanted in in spite of the players.
5. He lied and trashed a player in the media.
6. He coached his team to intentionally try to injure opposing players on kneel-down plays.

Anyone defending Schiano as a good hire is morally bankrupt at best.

That post looks familiar :salute:

Schiano was vetted by the people that previously hired him. What the hell else are they going to say? Nah we got the hire wrong! Lol I mean, please.

Translation:

"You Tennessee fans are dumb. You Tennessee fans wouldn't know a good coach if it hit you on the head. I know what I'm doing, you do not. Schiano is a great man and a great coach. Looks like you guys messed this one up."

My response:

FU

I will say this now with all sincerity.

They need to build a VFL monument in honor of the 2018 football signing class.

I can't imagine being the parent of a player and letting my kid go to Tennessee right now.

The kids that sign on in this class need to be honored in some way.

in other words, since he knew him for years, and he was the #1 target, he was doing a 'good ole boy' hire. Fire him.

The fact that he was stupid enough to outline it was a good ol boy hire in letter illustrates he is a walking, talking colossal jewel of ignorance

Heard on talk show Peyton sign off on him. So now a valid search begins. This was a conspiracy among some of our leaders. Dude needs to be packing but to many higher ups involved.

Essentially says....You trusted me to get a great coach. I did get a great coach. I don't care if he is speculated to have witnessed child rape and not reported it. You ruined it. Be Patient while I get you you some other loser.

He hit a student bicyclist while driving as the kid stopped to tied his shoe and put him in the hospital.
