Incompetence is when you don't check your tires and crash into the wall from a blowout. Right now, they are hoping you don't realize this was one driver putting another into a wall. This wasn't an accident. This is revenge.

Unfortunately people often are promoted into a position where they cannot function at a competent level.

For example, an assistant may be stellar and look highly promotable, however once they are promoted, they seem to fall apart, can't handle the stress well, or make bad decisions repeatedly.

Currie is our 3rd AD who isn't that good. It goes back Admin. Currie and elements withon Admin leadership need to be fired.

LOL Vicky Also, that AV is just a bright spot in a dark universe. Possibly the only reason to come here anymore.

I wish I was joking, but I think it really is her, or someone else in Phil's little circle of friends. And what scares them right now is if my dumb ass can figure this out, how long will it take for someone with more influence than me to get it? It isn't 1992 anymore. This time, there is an electronic trail they left. And perhaps a few new laws they didn't account for.

Well, I will see if I can find another here and there to brighten you day.

Jim Haslam III needs to be excluded from any and all decisions made by the athletic department. If they want to accept his money fine, but if that money is tied to his getting a thumbs up/down vote then he needs to be told to keep his money, and we can hire an AD who isn't lazy who will go out and get money from other boosters if it is necessary.

Will never happen. Dream on......

I cant imagine the board of directors appreciate this look. Its embarrassing to say the least and shows that these guys either don't care that much about what happens or that they are simply incompetent.

If the closed door meeting hasn’t started yet, it was supposed to be happening now. I can’t “confirm” or deny that.

Plenty of check marks on Twitter are reporting that some key decision-makers have lost confidence in his ability to make this hire. From this thread it was reported through fox Knoxville that Holloway and maybe Fulmer were livid when they found out. Jimmy Hyams confirmed on Nashville radio this morning that Currie wanted to speak to the press last night but was not allowed to. Hyams also said we reached out to Cutcliffe late last night. Other twitter check marks have confirmed this as well.

Who do you think UT would have allowed to reach out to Cutcliffe given all of this information plus everything that happened over the last 24 hours. The guy who had a part in dismantling the team that Cutcliffe “was” last a part of here. Or would it be someone else who felt just as betrayed by the former regime (and potentially Currie) his old buddy, the big guy

Sorry, had to add a few “words” that were omitted with voice text. In the middle of a 5 hour drive

If he survives this I will regretfully delete this account and start all over as punishment. In that event I will update this post so everyone sees me eat crow. I fully believe the information I got and there are similar unconfirmed reports of it elsewhere.

I guess you will be deleting your account now?

.....................STILL waiting...............

See above

Also, Currie’s statement is not an admission of fault or an apology. It is him justifying his decision and process. I am sure he will maintain this angle in the next job he interviews do. It is also him positioning against a “with cause” termination. Stay tuned

Currie missed the mark bad on this one.

Not calling for his head, but this opens up the door for a powerful agent (Sexton) to use his influence to get his next-in-line candidate a multi-millon dollar job.

Push Currie aside and get a search committee to ensure we have an impartial search and selection for our next coach.

Sexton is Schiano's agent.

Read my comments. I’m gone if I’m wrong

It's not that I don't believe that Currie will be gone...eventually. I do. But the people who post things like, "Currie is out!!!" so definitively are frustrating. It's no different than those who said Gruden is happening and that he signed a contract. It's a great thought and may eventually be true...but it's not yet so why make a post like that. Post what you KNOW...not what you think you know or what other people have told you.

Give the OP a chance to let it play out. I wish Currie was fired before he was wheels down back in K-town last night. But I knew that was a pipe dream. There is a tremendous amount of information floating around that Currie is gone. It’s just going to take some time.

OP you did go All In though. Time will tell if you’re holding trip aces or a pair of deuces.
