Currie is out!!!

As AD? Phil is gonna negotiate contracts?

Follow me on this. We start having Schiano rumors flying around before the Vanderbilt game was over. We have a twerp dumber than D4H supporting him, and others arguing with him and dropping links to the Washington Post story.

Yet with all this secrecy, that twerp is telling us here that Schiano will get the job on Saturday and public opinion interrupts negotiations tonight that nobody but insiders should have known about. I smell a big fat rat now.

If this doesn't remind me of Phil rooting out Johnny in 92, I don't know what else could. I wouldn't doubt it if Phil was on the grassy knoll. This is too damn obvious.

If you’re right, Phil’s a shrewd calculating operator. He’d make a great AD.

He did it to himself. He wanted total control of the hire. No search firm. No communication will come out until I announce. Had his mind set on Mullen, then Chip goes to UCLA, then Mullen picks UF over UT. Currie panics and gets sloppy and everyone knows he is in Columbus. We all know how the rest of the afternoon went

The Keystone Cops could not have done worse. All jokes aside, Currie should be fired. He quite obviously doesn't know what he's doing!

Yep something isnt right here..Phil and Manning supposed backed this ? Looks like to me all day that somebody was letting currie hang himself. To me its to obvious that phil and the guy who hired him are against currie and davenport..Seems to me they just killed 2 birds with 1 stone..Just seems to unbeliveable that in todays climate in America with all the preditor-sexual harrasment alligations that this guy wouldnt be touched with a ten foot pole let alone be hired in Tennesse .Its like we are being faked out and they are just trying to keep our attention and destract us from something else coming down the pike..Makes zero sense with him being below average as a coach..

Currie missed the mark bad on this one.

Not calling for his head, but this opens up the door for a powerful agent (Sexton) to use his influence to get his next-in-line candidate a multi-millon dollar job.

Push Currie aside and get a search committee to ensure we have an impartial search and selection for our next coach.

You are hearing something totally different then me. I heard Fulmer and Condredge Holloway are the ones that brought this all to light.

Yeah they said on Fox Sports Knoxville that Condredge went ballistic in the facilities when he got wind. I’m sure it’s all speculation but if true I respect him even more now.

No sir, he won't. Only this time, he can screw up more than football. He knows two things, 90s style football that is being watered down by new rules, and screwing people over. If this is what Tennessee athletics is about, it won't be worth watching.

You are clueless. In fact your are a moron. Michigan will win 9 games this year running a pro-style offense and be pre-season top 10 next year with it.

Phil didn't screw-up TN football, Mike Hamilton and the Haslams did. Hiring Derek Dooley screwed-up TN football.

Oklahoma, Bama, Georgia, Ohio State, and Wisconsin.. just to name a few schools, have former players and/or coaches as AD's.

But you are smart, let's hire another administrator like John Currie that has no true ties to TN or knows how a successful football program operates to lead TN athletics.. pure genius boy, pure genius

Also, Majors got himself fired by blowing 2 national titles, drinking too much, and rubbing everyone the wrong way.

There were better hires out there

If Tennessee wants to hire cheap they don’t need my children going to school there
At this point my children won’t go to school at the University of Tennessee because of the Bot not caring about the program

Suggesting that Fulmer orchestrated this whole thing to push out Currie is crazier than the Grumors.

Unbelievable 24 hours in Volnation. Here's the deal: The fish rots from the head down. The head in this case is the Haslams and their dirty money, then you have to blame the prez, chancellor and AD. All should resign first thing tomorrow for bringing national shame to this once proud, great university.

As an alumnus and someone who has contributed mega bucks over the years (until the Kiffen fiasco ... now give my alma mater donations to Pat's foundation), today's potential hire of Schiano was a disgrace. Now it's time to demand a total housecleaning.

Fulmer needs to take over the AD and search duties immediately, then bring in Blackburn full time once the new head-Coach contract has been signed. I wouldn't mind bringing Cutcliffe home to clean up this mess of a program and get us on track to respectability. Bring Tee or Jim Bob home, too, then hand one keys to the kingdom after a few years.

We are at the bottom of the barrel in the SEC and have been headed to this depth since the day Fulmer was fired. Lift the curse once and for all.

Phillip and Peyton, please kick the Haslams to the curb before the Feds do the honors.

When someone on here brags about how much they have donated, I know right off the bat they are FOS.

I gotta be honest, and I’m probably going to sound insane, but I still don’t think Schiano was ever going to be signed. I think someone said something to someone they shouldn’t have and social media being what it is today (just a massive worldwide game of telephone) took it ran with it. The next couple days are going to be very intresting.

OR, Currie is a tone deaf idiot that tried to hire a pedophile apologist and, lest we forgot, mediocre coach to boot.

Actually reading it typed out I’m leaning towards number 2.
