Currie is out!!!

Currie does not have the common decency to issue a statement. He knows that he has been caught in a web of deception and lies to all of us vol faithful.

In reality, he has said nothing publicly outside of the initial presser when he fired Lyle. Only the press and the fans have been issuing statements and speculation. For all I know, the whole Schiano thing is a farce initiated by the USA Today reporter.

Currie stated early on, "If you don't hear me say it, don't believe it."

It is being reported that Currie signed a MOU today with Schiano in Columbus Ohio.

currie is not going to be fired. this is utter nonsense. bad judgement but not a fireable situation. just be happy schiano isnt coming and move along.

I agree. Fire Currie now and we won't be able to hire a div. 1a high school coach. I don't care how much 💰 you throw, there has to be at least a little stability to go with it.

He's right. Currie did warn about rumours

Go back and read my posts on this thread. 10 hours ago I was saying the same thing. I didn’t think it was possible that Currie could be this stupid. He panicked, he got sloppy, everyone knew he was in Columbus. As much as I hated to admit it, he doesn’t have an ace up his sleeve.

Right, leave him in place and see just how much damage he can do. Yup, but some how that script seems vaguely familiar.

Just got it from a good source. Fulmer has the support of admin and boosters to take over immediately.

Fulmer should be making this hire. With the drama that Currie has created, it's going to be a hard sell for an AD to make to get a good coach to take this circus job. Fulmer could sell it though both because he is a former coach rather than a suit, and because selling people on UT is what he has done for 3 decades. Fulmer could sell a vision of how great UT can be. I have no confidence in Currie.

You would have to go back several years to figure that out...or just ask Johnny.

Bottom line... Currie messed this thing up twenty ways to Sunday. He is responsible for the backlash taking place... he should have known this was coming, yet he plowed forward. He should be fired... not excuses accepted for this situation.
THIS thirty ways to Sunday, NEVolFan! I'm not privy to insiders, nor to any astute outsiders, for that matter, but from my far off perspective, Currie has appeared to be dismissive of anyone else's input. He doesn't seem at all sensitive to this fan base; one which has been begging for a winner hire; one which has been making clear in how much poop he'd find himself if he messed this one up...yet, it looks like he's been putting on a charade-of-a-coaching-hunt while intending, all along, to bring in his old buddy Greg. I hope OP's right. As a devoted alum, I've paid my dues in alumni contributions, attended games-home and away-and spent abundant bucks on UT gear, etc. If he blows this one, then this one peon alumus won't divvy up 'til this ship's back in deep water. C'mon Phillip Fulmer. Step up! GBO!

How could Currie be a fall guy? He would have hired the person that is a huge fiasco. Anyone could have seen this coming. Being a fall guy means you are innocent, not ignorant.

If he's being told what to do by Haslam then he's absolutely the fall guy. I do believe Haslam is behind it with his apparent man crush on Schiano. He can hire him at Cleveland but stay the hell out of Knoxville. It's a PR nightmare.
