Hes the one guy that will handle the blame, even though the decision would not have been his alone... hence fall guy, not because of his part, but because others will get away with their part.

These so called officials in charge know the fans expectstions! The fans want and deserve a good hire! I say if this is true Currie should step down be fired whatever and let Fulmer take over! This hire is detrimental to TN football!

You might be the ONLY person with this opinion. Everybody, even Knox radio guys, are saying this a fireable offense, possibly even "with cause"...

He will not be able to maintain any credibility...period.

i dont want schiano as much as anyone else but the fact is there's no proof the guy covered up for sandusky. just one word against the other. obviously it was a dumb idea to hire schiano but chicken currie isn't going to be ran out of town over wanting to hire him, key word here is "wanting". There was no contract signed and apparently wasnt only currie pushing it, davenport did as well. so fire currie, davenport, fulmer, and the entire board if you want change.

John Currie proved today that he is a no talent, arrogant moron. This job is bigger than he is and he does not have the chops to be the UT AD.

The fact that John Currie would even consider Schiano says he does not understand our great tradition of winning, desire to do so with the utmost integrity, or demand that our head coach be a man of character that is 100% above reproach.

Let's do the right thing and hire Fulmer tonight!

Attempting to hire someone like Greg Schiano is not only incompetent in a football sense but also morally reprehensible.

There is no reason for John Currie to still be the AD at the University of Tennessee.

Wouldn’t happen tonight, atleast according to what someone close to the situation told me. Not using the S word again. He is just now getting back into town and will have to answer to a pretty large group in the morning.

Maybe I’m being trolled. Maybe the anger is palpable enough that what has been fed to me is true. We will all know very soon. Pay attention to other, more reputable sources in the morning

He (not “Jen” autocorrect and edit fix) hasn’t even answered to UT brass yet. Schiano might not have a job with OSU after this. This could continue getting uglier

They need to hire Blackburn tomorrow and let him fix this mess. He is a heck of an AD and he has a live for Tennessee like we all have. Not outsiders like Currie and Davenport

Currie does not have the common decency to issue a statement. He knows that he has been caught in a web of deception and lies to all of us vol faithful.
