Currie: focusing long term and 0 an 5 is unacceptable in sec!

I think there have been decisions made that the common non-booster VOL is not privy to. Those things will play themselves out at end of season unfortunately. I think Currie will make a change just like in Baseball and make sure were headed in right direction. as for the rest of the admin I have doubts.

In other words he's going to try and win the championship with a last second TD only to watch the time run out

I'm thrilled.

I just hope that the decision to fire him hasn't been officially made yet. If we lose by more than two TD's to Southern Miss, then of course a change has to be made.
But we can still win out and maybe even make it to the Taxslayer Bowl this year. #ChampionsOfLife

Ok Butch I was on your side and hopeful until the SC game, but it is over. That being said, I don't mind staying to try and become bowl eligible, as long as we have replacement dialed in.

We'd have to win out.
It's not gonna happen

They will probably end up letting Vanderbilt dictate their bowl destination for the 3rd time in 5 years.

When a coach for the University of Tennessee is putting his teams in position for Vanderbilt to decide if, when, and where they go bowling, it's time for a change.

Here’s what I will be singing when John Currie finally does the right thing and ends our Big Orange nightmare that is the Butch Jones era.

“John saw the li - I -I - ite.
John saw the li - I - I - ite.
No mo-ore Butch Jones, no mo-ore lies.
Now, I am happy, no pain do I feel.
Butch Jones is gone cause - John saw the light”

The coaching / the uproar in the program / the 0-5 is surely a total surprise and not part of the plan of his being brought in. Here is the plan that as moving forward / here is the MAIN message, and why he's here:

"This (Phase I) project is about the next 100 years. We can certainly hit the pause button just because we didn’t win last week, but that wouldn’t serve anybody very well. We’re focused on long-term results and long-term success.""

"As far as I'm concerned, it will be Neyland Stadium. (for) The next 53 months. That's how much CONTRACT I've got."

family, family ?? or, contract, contract ??

Wishful thinking! PROPER PLANNING PREVENTS PISS POOR PERFORMANCE....

My post wasn't meant to be funny. Butch is the guy. We're not going to be able to attract anybody any better, and could in fact do worse. I think we should be content with who we've got, hope that things don't get too out of control against So Miss, and settle in for the long haul with CBJ. I don't think he's been given enough time. Rome wasn't built in a day, and I think he's making significant progress year over year, especially in a very difficult SEC East.

If Tennessee loses by 1 point to S Miss it's unacceptable.

Butch is Not the guy. I'm not sure why you'd say that unless you believe we can't do any better. If you want Championships even in the East, then we pretty clearly must move on and find a strong game-time coach with great player development ability. As for Currie, I believe he's likely come to this decision as well. However, he's going to be very strategic about it. He won't be like many on VN who simply want Butch Fahred yesterday.
