Currie first day on the job...

Good luck to him. He's going to need it. Just find it ironic that he starts on April Fools Day and that that is also his birthday.

Seems fitting for us.

How was the OP bashing him? You're seeing ghosts here.

Hes not. But everyone else will.

Also, people really need to educate themselves on the whole Frank Martin situation. Currie didnt "run him off." Martin bolted because his players were tranferring because they hated him. Why do you think he didnt land a better job?

But I cant really expect people to actually read up on things instead of just reinforcing this idea that Currie ran him off. That doesnt fit the popular narrative of bashing Davenport, Currie, and CBJ.

You saying SC isn't a destination job? :) Me neither. And neither was Kansas State.

And you need to educate yourself and realize there's two sides to each story.....and given Currie's poor history and reputation as UT's Associste AD and his difficulties in getting along with the two very successful coaches of his money programs at KState, he doesn't deserve the benefit of the doubt imo.

Poor history and reputation? Because he wanted Fulmer gone? Big deal. I wanted Fulmer gone. The majority of the fan base did. It was the right time. It wasnt until recently enough time has passed that the fans have forgiven Fulmer for letting us slide so much. Now all the sudden everyone feels sorry for him.

The players at KState were going to transfer because they were tired of being berated and cussed out every day of their lives. That is an undisputed fact.

Because he was instrumental in HOW Fulmer's firing went down. Because he made disrespectful, disparaging remarks about the HOF coach. I wanted a change too, thought it was time to move on from Phil....but nobody I know wanted it to go down like it did, and Currie was reportedly right in the middle of it, helping recruit booster support for it, with the promise that they were gonna convince Gruden to be the new guy....how'd that work out? We all know now.

Then he goes to KState, where he inherits two great coaches and programs in his biggest revenue sports....and runs off his highly successful basketball coach and alienates the iconic football coach who reportedly despises him.

Bottom line, you got your side on this, I got mine....I'm just willing to connect the dots regarding who Currie is while you're putting all the blame on a bball coach who's widely respected, loved by his SCar players and playing in the final 4 today.

So stick with your story, no worries, cause I'm sticking with mine.

So you're upset that Currie wanted to hire Gruden? Color me impressed for him going all in. Didnt work out but **** happens sometimes.

Im glad USC lost. Frank Martin can go back to being irrelevant again.

But please KB, present me with your evidence of Currie "running Martin off." Would like to read it.
