I had to google the guy. He is a coach that went 39-39. He was 16-21 at LSU in the early 90's.

Hallman moved here to north Alabama and took a job coaching a local high school a few years ago. Talked them into spending a fortune, but failed miserably. He's a relic of the 80's who has no idea what's actually happening in the 21st Century. I can't believe he managed to somehow get quoted in an article and even end up with a thread here.

The Hallmans were from Tuscaloosa. Curley played for Bear. His brother was County Court Clerk in Tuscaloosa County for a long time.

Curley did coach at Southern Miss at one time. He got caught cheating and had the famous line in an interview about it, "How in the hell else do you think you get an 18 year old to come to Hattisburg, MS?"

Yes, he did coach at LSU in the 1990's. LSU stunk before he got there and it didn't get any better. IMO, LSU was destroyed by Alabama during the Bill Curry years. I guess it took Saban to bring them out of it.

Curley wasn't a bad coach, all in all. Just never got in the right situation.
