Curious how people feel about the reason for the loss.

Who thinks there are major issues or this loss was a fluke and Tennessee will bounce back?

Did anyone else see Pruitt and some of the other coaches come to the sideline while the band was still doing their pregame? I don’t think they even ran thru the T.

.I feel like the 1st game against App State in 2012 could have ended like this game just a little closer but could've been a L.. We had Dobbs who always did some intangible things in a game. We still had to recover a fumble by Hurd in the end zone to win, a bit lucky. We went on to a 9 & 4 record that year with what has been labeled worst coach ever that's still causing us to lose now and into infinity & beyond.
I like JG but when I see him talk he's just not motivating. I'm not sure, it may be a New Jersey/south thing, but he bores me.
Not sure how teammates like him or what kind of chemistry or leader he is or isn't. it just seems something is missing. No IT factor that you like in a QB that after 2 or 3 years should be a leader even if he's not by nature.

Pretty much yeah they did; but even still their situation didn't really compare to ours then. They hadn't gone through a decade of mostly crap.

but in reality... I believe it "mostly" comes down to issues in the locker room. part of the team cares, part does not. I would personally not play anyone who doesn't care and play all freshman (or hell walk ons at this point) at least the fan base would be more acceptable to losing dinky games because we would then know what is going on and why we are having to rebuild and do that

Practice is over, time to play in front of family, friends, and huge crowds.

If UT needs a motivational speaker to beat Missou, Vandy and Ga. State better hang it up. They thought an SEC team could just show up and win last weekend, and they were correct.

#3 That should have been resolved quickly. Culling the kids who aren't working out and are causing turmoil among the team should have been a top priority.

Pruitt does not know what a head coach should do. He needs to go to a dang seminar or something. Shoot, someone should at least sit that boy down and make him watch "Remember the Titans".

He did not prepare himself well enough to be a good head coach early. It shows in the demeanor and performance of the coaching staff and has bled to the players and the culture of the program big-time.

The urgency and fire from the other coaches is a reflection of what they see daily from the head coach.

Someone call Tony Robbins and set up a private session with Pruitt.

God, just get over Butch. Pruitt was sold as an "elite" coach and he should be able to make this team better. Those of you always using Butch as a scapegoat just are not willing to admit that Pruitt either can't inspire or isn't the coach he was touted to be.

As JJ said? was this before or after GS? Cheering for the team "No matter what", is what got us here. Remember all those idiots that kept saying, we need to support Boy Butch-No Matter What? Year after year, they usually added some kind of BS, such as, "He has us moving in the right direction", "he took over a dumpster fire", or my favorite, "He's building the program brick by brick"! No matter what! When you cheer no matter what, you end up looking at the score after each game saying, WHAAAAAT????

They wore us down and took the game to us in the fourth quarter. That should never have happened but it did.

They wanted the game more.

They were more sound fundamentally.

Three turnovers for TN, one for Georgia State.

A man with over a thousand post per month is an expert on that! That's why I refer to you as "most brilliant guy"! I know a lot of people say things such as: In my opinion, I believe, my take away is this.., etc. Defining their opinions as opinions, those that state 3rd down, 8:32 on the clock, first quarter xxxxxxx, usually denotes some thing they saw, or know or believe to be a fact. When someone states, """A lot of sh*t is going on with the team behind the scenes that we don't know about""", I just assumed it is something you knew, rather than just an opinion. I thought you had an inside source, a friend on the staff, or team etc., rather than just an opinion, based on something other than actually knowing. God Bless your heart. Even though you like to name call, you're still, Most Brilliant Guy to me.

If half your team is recruited by someone else, and half of your team had no dedicated strength and conditioning coach for a year and a half (actually hysterically ridiculous at a major program btw) then you’re expected to “inspire” and coach those lumpy pieces of crap. Pruitt may completely suck but players that give up on their teammates and coach are a joke. You shouldn’t have to inspire a team to play in their first game of the year. Players to take responsibility for their team regardless of the coaching staff.

Boy butch was a piece of SH8t coach, everyone watched him take the program down, Pruitt is not the "elite" coach he was sold as, both are true. I'm willing to admit Pruitt either, can't inspire or isn't the coach he was touted to be, at the same time I know what a crap coach boy butch was.

I don't believe for a second Butch is a scapegoat, his football philosophy is different from Pruitt's, you just can't walk in and change a culture that was in place for 5 years. If you can't look at this from an objective view, then don't. I had just as much hope for Butch and I do for Pruitt, I believe Pruitt has a better SEC type football IQ than the previous coaches, that is why I think he will turn the program around, but not in just one season. This is about the players and the coaches, let them do their jobs without all this anger and toxic chatter..........jmo

I don’t see how this season could be anything but a disaster. Tennessee just got skull drug up and down the field by Ga. State. I don’t care what happens the rest of the season. That one loss will absolutely define this season.
